thanks, still missing some equipments, co2 regulator which will be the best and most reliable out there.

You might want to check some websites for hydroponic type stuff. I remember finding a nice regulator there..I wish I could be more help and remember the webpage. sorry.

That one looks less likely to rust. I bought a high-end German one but it is already rusting which ticks me off to no end!

Agreed. I even asked what they'd suggest. I'm thinking about making an acrylic display box to put over the tank and regulator to keep it rust free. He suggested a bag and duct tape.

I don't see the price. Why is that btw? I'm coming across this on more and more websites. Am I just going blind, or what?

Looks like this would be too small a product for a system of your size. 1300g needs some high quality stuff. I know someone else that bought something very similar for his nano. This one looks like it would be about the same.

Btw, the solenoid is an add-on, not included in the kit.

The Red Sea line is not good enough IMO for a large system. I use the Bio System on my planted tank. In fact I have two on it and it works very well. Just need to change out sugar and yeast once a month, and it puts out some serious moonshine!

For a large system, you don't really count bubbles anyway. You need to set your water flow through your Ca reactor, and then dial in the CO2 to get the right Ca concentration in your tank.

cbui2: if you need a hand setting up some equip, let me know. That would be a good excuse to ride the motorcycle across the lake.

IMO? I believed my ca reactor has a bubble counter built in, ok I look into that.

"IMO" means In MY Opinion. :)

What I meant is that it's tough to count bubbles in high demand systems. I still have the counter, but I just use it as a visual reference to see if the CO2 is on or off.

yeah that's fine, I will be setting tank in place tomorrow since the stand will be back from line-x treatment also plumbing work and building shelves for all my tanks, skimmer, reactor, etc. will be done this weekend.. I will call you if I need any help setting my equipment up, also I have read all instructions manual over and over to get general ideas on how all the parts work. It will be nice riding across lake pontchartrain since summer is here pretty much.

Do you have any diagrams you could post on how you're going to set it up and what the plumbing is going to be?

Thanks!

-Chris

Mr. Bart,

Quite a project you've gotten yourself into here. :)

Your setup is pretty similar to mine, and I have one question for you from a picture I noticed back at the beginning of the thread: what type of floor are you placing the stand on? It looks like it terminates in six or eight beam-ends instead of long beam-edges... so you're going to be point-loading the floor underneath? Tell me that either your floor is an airport runway or that I'm misinterpreting the picture, por favor!

I will enjoy your progress in the days, weeks, months, and years to come. Ha!

Ben

I having got a chance to find any programs yet, if you know where I can get it or download would be helpful.. I will make sure to ask all the questions before any plumbing will be done, just want to make sure I only do this once..

Hope you bought/plan on buying a generator for the tank, just in case you get a black out.

This is the unit that have been ordered already, Guardian 16,000 Watt (LP) / 15,000 Watt (NG) Home Standby Generator from HD. Unit runs on natural gas or liquid propane and has automatic transfer switch.

hey ben thanks, please send me link for your thread. 1st concrete floor, my house had piling all over included in the garage w/post tension cable both garage and house so I should be covered..These homes have 4500lbs post tension cable that was included in the foundation, also was another reason why I picked this house. beams are 2x6 reason why this was done is because 12" above this in the attic has 2x12 beams running from front to the back to support the load, so I did this just for a little extra..no runway here, but before tank was ordered I had a talk with the superintendent on site who is responsible on building all the homes in this subdivision said you will not occur any problems...
