Man, I'd fly out from LA just for the fun of putting together all that great stuff
and some of that great N.O food, of course...

that hurts. I am sure he loves his toyota's as everyone who ever owned them. I love muscle cars but I have had a supra and am on my 3rd Lexus. They are great cars and trucks. Your occupation states student .. I guess that also stands for your automotive knowledge.

HEHEHHEHEH

now wait a minute, he could be a student in automotive technology, therefore he knows the difference between a BMW and a toyota. Still, unless there are fish in them, we should move on to ... MORE PICTURES!

thanks all for your kind replies, yes Mrseptember15 that is one of my babies BMW 540i 6speed w/custom 20x9 front--20x10 rear wheels, and then here's what I had accomplished for today.. First I picked up my stand from line-x, coating was thicker than steel itself and should last me a lifetime, yeah right lol.

man that sucks I had a couple friend in high school who were big nissan fans, 280 xx turbo ran 12.9 BIG Turbo, but then he finally got a tt it was a sweet ride.

I did catch it was a 540 from the back pic. I just assumed a 3 something. Man nice ride. I am gettin rid of my gs400 but the car was great. You just got to love the torque of V8. I am also taking a break form the cars and loving this hobby. When I get back next month from vacation I am starting an in the wall build too.

Everything looks great. Keep the pics coming..

ok started building my stands for refugium, frag, and w/c sump. what I have been seeing a lot of the foam installation on the bottom of these glass tank, is this to even it out. tank stand is frame out 2x4 and no plywood will be used..any ideas what kind of foam or could I just sit it on I frame. since I will be having my tanks above each other, starting from top 1. refugium, 2. frag and then 3. w/c sump.

Why will you not use plywood? I use 3/4" exterior grade plywood on any tank install plus the foam. I also put a couple coats of marine resin on the plywood. The foam is used to even things out and this is especially important with a glass tank. Acrylic can take a certain amount of flex, but glass cannot.

How's that Maxcap RO/DI? I am not convinced it's worth the extra $.

Wow I love the last set of pics. I will definitely bw following along. Title is great: first reef tank.... 1300gallon system. lol

Another great large reef building thread to follow. Cbui2, yours is especially interesting, it being your first reef. As I sat salivating at just the equipment list, I told the wife I wanted to do something like this. Amazingly, the only thing she wanted in return was a new house.

Hmm.....the possibilities...

Again great job, looking forward to following your progress.

I had double joint the 2x4 front, back, middle and sides. then had 1" foam, seen it done LFS. also will coat with marine resin. do you still think its ok or should go ahead 3/4" plywood because then I will have to coat the bottom and humidity problems in new orleans is so high, since the tank are set above each other.

Maxcap RO/DI haven't got a chance to install it yet, but will let you know how that goes. could I install 15gal tank for top/off and gravity feed to deltec kalk stirrer so additional pump will not be needed, just trying to decide on how to build my rack. along with all my other equipments, i am starting from the one side of the garage and working my way in.

thanks rob, I know when I purchased this home my wife and kids were very happy, but I needed a new hobby and trying something new. My older brother has 2 300gal w/4 asian arowana 2 red and 2 gold, I like them but it's too boring since all he has is just fishes, no sand or anything at all. and of course freshwater
