Hey Everyone - not a CMAS member...haven't been for AGES and don't have the time for club meetings etc.
ANYWAY, I usually hang out in the Fish Breeding Forum here. Ed suggested I post this info at the CMAS forum as well...not a bad idea.
Occasionally I sometimes have excess cultures of the following:
T-Isocrysis
Nannochloropsis
Nannochloris
Tetraselmis
L-Strain Rotifers
SS-Strain Rotifers
When I have extra, I'm more than happy to pass them along to someone else who'd like to start them up. The only stipulations are:
1. I doll 'em out based on order of need - i.e. if you're working with gobies, you have a better chance of getting SS Rotifers than if you're working with clownfish!
2. They are free to you, so if you pass them on, they are free to anyone else you give them. In other words, you can't turn around and start selling cultures.
3. If my cultures crash and you can get me restarted, please do!
4. You have to pick them up - North Side of Chicago (think Evanston area). I'm not shipping!
In the future I may end up selling cultures locally to recoup some of my investment (and by future I mean could be next week or could be 5 years from now) but for now, starter cultures are free.
BABY FISH/Inverts - sometimes I have more larvae / eggs than I can handle, these are freely given out as well. The total list of species I'm currently working with include:
Green Banded Gobies**
Bangaii Cardinalfish*
Bluestreak Cardinalfish (A. leptacanthus)**
Lattice Cardinalfish (A. margaritophorus)*
Green Mandarins**
Red Sea Mimic Blennies (E. graveri)*
Barbour's Seahorse (H. barbouri)
Firefish (N. mangifica)
Red Scooter Blennies
Onyx Percula Clownfish
Pacific Lettuce Nudibranchs (Elysia diomedia)**
*Have had spawns and/or currently spawning
** Have had viable larvae
My only stipulation for fish babies is that you keep track of what you do and your successes/failures (i.e. in the Fish Breeding Forum) and if you raise a bunch, a couple back to start the next generation of parents.
If you're interested in obtaining any starter cultures or extra spawns, shoot me a PM with what you're interested in, name, and phone number + email (so I can call and/or email if something becomes available).

Happy to help fellow potential breeders out. FWIW Jamie, the bangaiis were REALLY easy to get started with; started with 5 CR juvies purchased at Fish Planet, a pair formed, the rest went back and a few months later they spawned. They go about once per month. My only problems with these (and my Apogon margaritophorus) are the males holding the eggs - most experienced breeders of the cardinals have suggested that the crowded conditions are to blame. Sooooo, I'm trying for artificial incubation when I get the chance...so far no success there either, but maybe in time.
