alright i am asking for you all to give me your thoughts on my list and which out of the 2 you think i should go wiht ,,thank you for you thoughts ,,sps sytem 3'2'2' heavy curent
1.yellow tang
2female lyretail anthias and 1 male

or

2.yellow tang
4 halfmoon damsels
6 line wrasse
purple fire fish

which one looks the best to you

Personally, I wouldn't consider any tang in a 3 foot tank. It will be cramped and stressed. Simply not enough lateral swimming room. Option 2 would work but the firefish might take a beating from the damsels or sixline. Maybe replace the firefish with one of the pseudochromis.

thanks ,,yep that is why i went wiht a more eassier tang to care for like the yellow i feel you are right though about the 3 feet ,,but i would like to keep him in there to help eat away the little bit of alge ,,

Plesae don;t get any type of tang in a 3 foot tank. Just get a lawn mower blenny if you are worrierd about algea. Fre fish and damsels will probably not work/

The damsels will probably gig the firefish to jump. They're pretty rowdy. For algae, an urchin is good. For an anthias that will adapt, but only as a solo, the sunset anthias sits, and doesn't race, unlike the others. It is a solitary fish.

Damsels that behave themselves: chromises. I have a single and he does fine, just for color and motion.

I'm obviously fond of my own list---I tend to gobies and blennies. But the sunset anthias is a beauty and you might also look at the chalk basslets, as a colorful fish. The fairy wrasses are beautiful. And for outrageous behavior a watchman or jawfish is fun.

Just a thought -

I'd say not so fast about the tank being 3 feet long - if the rocks are placed in the center with swimming room all around and also stacked loosely enough to swim through in places, I'd think you could have a fish like a kole tang and maybe a yellow(?) - don't know how you're going to landscape though

That's merely speculation ---others with more tang experience should comment on that thought

How many gallons is it?

Just in case you ever want a mandarin - they don't mix with 6 - line wrasses the 6-lines eat all their food(pods) and bite their eyes off if feeling especially nasty Edit - Sorry , you already know this -- I just checked and see you're 4 years into reefing

If the damsels -halfmoon- are the ones I have - C. hemicyanea - they are quite nice little fish with the added benefit of staying really small. I have 3 and 2 spawn while the other one is expected to keep a safe distance. The largest one won't let anyone within 5 or so inches of the egg site , but otherwise no aggression I highly recommend them - I'm guessing that if you get 4, they will pair up on opposite sides of the tank - If you are not aquascaping "in the round", I wouldn't get more than 2 (And get juveniles so you don't wind up with fish of the wrong sex.)

thank you everyone for your insight ,,the damsels i was talking about are Half Moon Damsel
(Dascyllus marginatus) http://www.vividaquariums.com/10Expand.asp?ProductCode=01-2128-10 they look like the pic here ,,my scaping is very open larger rocks with lots of open room to swim that is why i went wiht the yellow i did think of the kole though,,i ordered this morning i got 3 anthias and the yellow tang that will be the only fish in the tank i will be feeding alot wiht a big skimmer for the benefit of the sps,,i figured the few fish the better that is why i went wiht list 1
