Fish Names

Ok, not sure why I have the urge to share with everyone my fish names, but I do. My kids and I were sitting watching my tank this evening and they started talking about our livestock and calling them by names. Now, I just have the urge to share our silly names with everyone. Mind you, my kids are ages 6 and 3 and have named MOST of our livestock, I may have helped with a few...

Here we go:

Blue Tang: Dori (boring I know, but I was out voted)
Maroon Clown: Jokster Nemo
Purple Dottyback: Jewel
4 Yellow Damsels: Rochelle, Emma, Brooklynn, and Kaydence (two named after my kids and 2 named after their cousins)
Blue Jaw Trigger: Mr. Triggs
Coral Beauty: Coral
Starry Blenny: Skipper
Harlequin Shrimp: Harley
Pink/Peach Serpent Star: Pinky
Banded Serpent Star: The Brain (get it?!?)
Halloween Urchin: Jack
Purple Urchin: Spike
Large Hermit (like the one at Shark Reef): Huebert

Got any cool names to share?

Hahaha I like that my kids got thrown in there.

My wife has assigned the names to my live stock

Randall's goby - demon
Tribal Benny - the rock
Serpent star - spike
Helfinchi filefish - chief

I'm depressed I get the Pinky and the Brain reference.... I haven't had children living here in 4 years....

I try not to name my fish, because that seems to place a curse on them, they are always perfectly healthy until I do.

The one exception has been a peppermint shrimp named Jacques. I don;t know what the natural lifespan of one is, but Jacques has lived longer than any fish except my original 3 Occelaris clowns (yes, in the same tank... Everyone tells me it won't work long term, but they have grown up together and have been in three tanks for a total of over 5 years)

I have a large emerald crab that likes to climb to the top of one of my acros and he will wave his claws in the air. He is called---KING KONG!

I havent gotten around to naming most of mine....except Mondo the Mandarin(fat little guy)......usually call the female clown "Queen B***h" since she attacks me now.

Dragonface pipefish, clingfish, and sexy shrimp are still unnamed. I should work on that...

I've always believed that naming a fish is the absolute kiss of death (but then again, with my fishkeeping skills, that's probably a bit redundent). That said, I did have a blue damsel once that I named 'Vile Beast'. Of course, that one live and lived up to his name.

I haven't named everything yet, but my filefish are "Arthur Brown" and "James Morrison". My Dragonet is "Sgt. Joe Friday"
