Fish that do well in 3s (Trios)

Mystery wrasses are aggressive, but they can be paired for sure, I don't know about trios. They are similar to sixlines in behavior, but can be a little larger, but pairing them is for sure do able, but they will be mean to new wrasses or similar sized fish.

For something cheap and simple you could do a trio of talbot or alleni damsels.

Simple but beautiful fishes would be a royal gramma harem.

You should try a harem of Flasher wrasses. I've been trying to find females for my male mccoskeri, but no success yet. I think they're beautiful to watch.
