Fishing Thread!!!!!!!!

Well I'm glad you got the boat running and got to get out anyway Randy:)

You guys are thinking of the Emory river/Watt's Bar lake with the ash spill. That's west of town just off I-40 and the part of the Clinch Randy is fishing is northwest of town off I-75 just below the Normandy Dam.

I read a couple of weeks ago they were letting water spillover the top of the Normandy dam lately for the first time in years. I'm guessing that's making the river warmer but harder to wade due to the increased level/flow. No idea if they still are.

Waderless on the Clinch River? I won't go dipping my bawls in that anytime soon after the coal ash spill.

I was waiting for that LOL! I don't go that "deep", icewater doesn't agree with them.

It's the Waterville dam. You can get the generation schedule by calling (800) 899-4435.

Well I'll just say sometimes I get words mixed up.......not the first time and it won't be the last. The location should be pretty straight forward to those who have fished this part to the country for any period of time:)

I just thought it might have another name, that's all. I kinda like that area and like to do a bit of historical research from time to time and knowing another name would be helpful.

It doesn't have another name that I'm aware of. Just me writing the wrong word:)
There was a neat Heartland series feature on Norris dam a while back. It talked about building the dam (which was one of the first , or the first, built by TVA in the region) and the families that were displaced, jobs created etc.....It also said the reason it was so nutrient poor is that the topsoil that was underwater has pretty much been washed away at this point. Lots of little historical tidbits if you ever see it on and haven't seen it before.

Just got my fishing license this weekend and took the boys out. They got some small stuff. Only thing I hooked, though, was myself.
