Fishing Thread!!!!!!!!

shoot he put that 2 lb line to the test.

Worst part was the fight.... we went back and forth for what seemed like days, I mean 20 seconds.

All joking aside he did frag a few of my sps, but I'm glad he is out.

Well I got to take the kids out fishing today and everybody caught a few. The lake wasn't crowded at all compared to what I expected it to be. We had a great time.

Here is Wes with his first catfish (the catch of the day!)

I hope everyone has had a nice Memorial Day. I'm ceartainly thankfull for everyone that has sacrificed so I can live the way I do:D

This is my first one without my Grandfather who fought in WWII so I've been a little reflective today:)

Nice!!!!!! I thought about going out today, but didn't think the weather would hold, well, that and Ashley wanted to work... :rolleye1:

Bought a cast net this weekend, and have my throw back down... :D I hope to be able to post some pics by next weekend... ;)

I thought you were slackin' ;)

You'll be able to taunt me like I taunted you last year:lol:

I thought it wasn't going to be a great day weatherwise when I was pulling the boat out of the garage in the rain then it didn't rain again till just a few minutes ago.

I'm really glad my kids (and my wife) enjoy fishing. Wes and Anna have been begging me to go for months:D

Wes has been talking about his catfish all day!

I've been catching up on work and on my tanks... I did clean the boat out (since mine isn't in the garage), and change the oil and oil filter, and now the battery is all charged up, so I'm ready to go... :p

Its awesome that the family enjoys your passion as well... Ashley has been bugging me about camping, hopefully we'll get to go this weekend... :)

 I just saw this... I was too busy looking at the pics before... Sad thing is, up until I started going out on the lake with you, that about is what I was catching... :rolleye1:

You all let me know when you want to go out on the Clinch with the generators off. I have extra waders. Generally speaking I go on the far side of Miller's Island (River road side). I'll put you on them but the absolute best thing to catch them with is Pautzke's Balls of Fire (Salmon Eggs).

There used to be a "hole" right near the base of the weir dam on the road side that I would catch a trout almost every cast on a chartruse (sic?) rooster tail. I think it has been washed out long ago, though. Seems like they're opening the generators a lot lately due to all the rain. I like going waderless; after about 10 minutes you don't feel anything.

if you go waderless you are the man

Agreed Jettster
Waderless+Clinch River=The Man
I would definitely be down for a trip to the Clinch. Let me know when a good Saturday morning would be for everyone, obviously I think the 20th is off limits for everyone :D

I'll be heading there this afternoon, sans waders, via boat... ;)

I'm up for a Saturday expedition however... I'll be bringing my waders though... :eek1:

If there's waders involved then I totally want to go.

Do we eat the fish afterwards?

*disclaimer: I'm not actually 100% sure I can actually do this."

I usually save one or two to eat...

Today was a bust... Dead battery and pop up thunderstorms equals p!ssed Randy and no fishing... Tomorrow is another day... :rolleye1:

Well, my dead battery turned into a New Battery, new sparkplugs, can of carb and choke cleaner, flushed fuel lines, and two wasted days... Got it going good today... Hopefully I'm good on maintanence for a couple more years... :D

Went out, first float down, caught a little Brookie, had another small one on, half a dozen hits, figured it was going to be a great day... :) Then they kicked open a few more generators... Water filled with trash, over the next 4 hours only had two more hits... But the boat ran well, so I guess it wasn't so bad... Better than being under a horse, or in class... :p
