"It seems pretty clean...Really there isn't anything different from before. I mean, it's green," says local boater David Buckley. Yeah guys, c'mon - it's green and doesn't LOOK dirty, so it's gotta be safe.

I had a friend who was studying harmful algal blooms in Lake Erie.

She said that despite there being clearly placed signs that it was too hazardous to use the beach right then there were people swimming.

That's all you need...a big gulp full of neurotoxic algae.

Isn't that the new fad for teenagers... :p

Let me get this correct:
I live on a lake/river just down stream from the place that they made the nuclear bombs, the river that also is downstream from centuries of unregulated mining, and then there is this little flyash levy break. Green water, isn't that normal?
So what's the question???

I caught my first rainbow trout yesterday morning. I ended up letting him go, though, because I couldn't catch more and didn't want to mess around with cleaning just one. Ten years in East Tennessee and this is the first time I've ever had a trout stamp. My fishing this morning was cut short by a thunderstorm followed by packing up the camper. I'll have things 5x5 for the next trip, though, and hopefully catch my limit in one day.

I went to Loudon this morning. I couldn't have asked for a better day weather wise or fishing wise:)
I "found" several new (to me) places and had some good luck in some spots I regularly fish as well. I mainly caught fish shallow around wood/ docks with soft plastics and caught some fish chasing shad as well with a smaller jerkbait. I caught around 20 largemouth, none of them giants but I caught fish all day so it was nice:D
