Aaron I tried but i couldn't do it, I shouldve mentioned i have photoshop elements not the full blown program and i dont think i can mask only create layers. When i tried doing it by simply adjusting layers i get that funky glow not as clean looking as your way. do you know another method in elements i can try. here's the shot

Franky, looking on Google I found this, it's a work around for elements so might work.

anyone can give me some pointers on how to make my pics better ?

mostly the black background I see on most pics ... are they post processed ?

^^ this one I tried to focus on the eyes, but seems like the mouth is out of focus and makes the pic not so good ...
