Flex PVC locally?

I've seen it on some local yokels' tanks but can't actually find it anywhere. Brandon, where'd you get yours?

Thought about ordering from flexPVC.com since they also have some nice, molded manifolds I want, but the shipping is astronomical for the items I want.

Suggestions?

jeremy i got mine at a local pool/spa store on taft rd, forget the name. even though it flexes, it works best when heated up

Lowes. Does vary store to store. Consider using Christy's Red Hot Blue Glue with it. Also, try not to force the bends, if needed cut, rotate, and use a slip coupler to join

Thanks everyone. I had tried Lowes in Oneida county and couldn't find it. Will try the East Syracuse one and if not, go for the pool stores. Thanks.

Blurry, is that stuff better than straight PVC cement/primer?

I've used regular primer and cement on 1". For the larger sizes a lot of folks suggest using a glue rated for flex (surprising eh). Something about primers causing problems. The christys can be mail ordered (note that the ace store on amazon only ships on Thursdays)

For not much $ it gives peace of mind!

also, savko.com is useful if you cannot find locally. Shipping costs arent too bad because they are in ohio I think.

Just wanted to update this old thread for the sake of a nice archive.
Lowes has the stuff in East Syracuse.
Home Depot does not carry it (or seem to know what it is).
Tarson pools in East Syracuse (and also in North Syracuse) carry it at about a dollar per foot less than Lowes.

Could you snap a pic so we know exactly what you're referring to? There are several things I think ofwhen I hear "flex pvc."

Thx!

I have spotted it at the Lowes in Henrietta (couple months ago) and in Webster (this morning). One thing is that it was not kept on any normal height shelves, had to look up. But it was right in the normal flexible tubing section of plumbing.

Found this example. It's 1.5" and fits normal PVC fittings. It's excellent for guys like me that seem to have a tough time cutting lengths of pipe to the exact measurement and it does a great job of absorbing vibration (and sound) from large pumps.

Yes, many people use the term haphazardly. There is really only one product that should be called flex pvc though. It's the one shown above. Here's another pic from google images:

Quick question since we're on the subject of PVC. Will sch. 80 fittings fit sch.40 pipe and viscera?
