Flow Rates

Hello,

I am a bit confused about the flow rates of the MP20 and MP40W. Your main product page states that the MP40W is 1000-3000 GPH, but your MP40W product page states that it is 500-3000 GPH. I remember the 500-3000 GPH figure when I originally purchased a MP40, so I am a bit confused about the new 1000 GPH figure.

Does the MP40W Gen2 do 500 GPH when not in feed mode?

Secondly, the MP20 is rated at 500-2000 GPH, but at the SoCal MAX show, I could have sworn that the Ecotech rep told me 200-2000 GPH. He may have mispoke, or I may have misheard, but I was assuming that the 200 GPH figure was one of the main selling points for smaller tanks. The literature at the MAX show did say 500-2000GPH (as does your web site), so I assume that that is the true figure.

Thanks for the clarification.

During the development of the MP20 we thoroughly tested and re-tested our pumps. We have since published the following official flow rates in our trade show flyers according to our collected data:

MP20- 500 to 2000 gph

MP40w - 1000 to 3200 gph

Feed mode for both pumps is 500 gph

Admittedly, our website is a bit out of date on some of this info and some of it even conflicts! We are doing a heavy overhaul on the website as we speak and this should alleviate any future confusions.

But why would the feed mode on the MP40W be 500 gph if the pump weren't able to throttle down to that speed under normal operation?

It is technically able to throttle down to that speed, we just don't enable it for the regular range. It's all software determined.

Hmm...well, for the next rev of your software, may I request that the feed mode duration be user programable (10 minutes <> 60 minutes) and that the normal minimum operating speed of the MP40w be governed at 500 gph instead of 1000 gph. Both these would help with my feedings.

thanks!

and I would recommend getting the inforamtion right the first time as well as a night mode. All of this redesigned information is troubling to me. Why did some distributors list 100 and 300 gph as low end/feeding range? You must admit 100/300 revised to 500/1000 is quite a difference.
