Flow

Hi again tunze staff!
I'm setting up a 10x2.5x2.5 450gal Mixed reef. I've been talking to some fellow reefers about the flow and I'm worried that the 6255 won't be sufficient to get from one side to another. I thought of the master-stream 6508. Could you give some advice in regards about the flow I will appreciated.

If their will not be a lot of SPS I think 2-4 6255 would do the job fine. The best might be to start by looking at some youtube videos of both pumps to get a better feel for them. The 6508 are huge and usually we recommend them only for tanks 1000 gallons +

Would you say that with one 6508 I could replace 4 6255. I know that the 6508 is huge compared to the 6255 and could fit in its 5 outlet. Would you say it's overkill for my needs ?

I would generally not recommend a set up of only 1 pump. You will usually want to change flow directions and if that one pump breaks down and needs to be repaired it will be a very difficult situation, it is best to have 2 pumps at least.

What would YOU run if it was your tank? Only the 4 6255? Anything else!? Maybe a couple of 6215? Let me know what you think

I would use 2 6255 and possibly a wavebox and wavebox extension. I don't think more would be needed.
