Flowwolf v2.0 flow diverter

oi have still been emailing him to day, and i asked him about all the problems that were had and what he did to fix them this is that email

Hi Brad,

Yes, this is a completely new beast that has nothing in common with the previous standard FW version.

- The seal on the FW was exposed to water (and debris), now it’s sealed and encapsulated on the FWX.
- The drum on the FW was solidary to the motor shaft, now there’s a drive/coupling mechanism that won’t lock the motor if stalled for some reason
- The former FW electronics had no feedback from the motor (this is the main big problem), power was applied to it even if stalled (motor burnt)
- We increased torque by 250% on the FWX, so flow with more than ideal pressure does not lock the drum at a given position

All issues corrected, and by a BIG margin. That’s why we’re upgrading standard FW customers to the FWX too. Even used ones.

Thanks,

Thanks,

What does he mean by this? Is he inferring that they are upgrading customers who have had problems at no additional charge? His website has an upgrade path which you pay an additional 385 Euros, with current exchange rates, thats about 455 dollars. Ive already paid 1100 for my two FW's, so I would have to pay another 910 dollars to get a product that would last? That doesn't seem right. Mine is 4 months old, and haven't even seen water yet.

Tony why not ask Lucas

Thanks Mike, Ive sent an email off to see. From a business standpoint it doesn't make much business sense to replace mine, as I haven't had any problems, because they haven't even been connected yet. I understand this, however it seems like there is a design flaw that they are aware of, and I was just clarifying. I don't like asking people for things....even though I was born in the "entitlement" generation, I don't partake of that thought process...

Tony I'm confident Lucas will make good on it as my original is still in operation at this moment.
I did have a situation in the past were the shaft loosens up and needs re-tightening.
I spoke with Lucas and he assured me he is going to send me the new version/upgrade FREE of charge so I am very happy and convinced he wants to to the right thing by his customers.

I love my flow diverter and how it makes the tank seems so much healthier.
I sincerely don't think you will have a problem.

At the moment seems Lucas is making things right with all that believed in his product. I for one am looking forward to installing the FWX and getting this thread back on tract with excitement because we all have killer flow makers:)

Well, I haven't had any problems, as they haven't been hooked up yet. Im just kind of concerned since there seems to be a design flaw. However I did hear back from Lucas, and he stated I could upgrade to the FWX at the upgrade pricing.......

Im not certain how I feel about this at this point.

I would take what ever Lucas says with a pinch of salt. He has NOT come true to his promise to me as per his email to me where he promised me a FWX because my flowwolf broke down again. It is easy to write/say promises, but if they come true is another story. I do not believe he has any intention of replacing my unit and as i said before after more than a year now i have given up on this product and advising hobbiests here in the UK that this is not a worthy product to buy.

My two fwx's are supposed to ship today and arrive by Friday. I've had frequent contact with Lucas so my fingers are crossed!

Oh.. you actually purchased 2 FWX's. They are not replacements for faulty goods. Different situation for us poor sods who have the old version!

Have you received any emails from fwx cloud service yet? Check your junk mail folder if you haven't. I know we've all had varying experiences with Lucas and the fw but I truly think he'll make it right. It might take a little time but I think it will get done. My system is laid out specifically for this and I will keep trying until I'm confident there's no hope.
