OK I have a yellow and black fox-face fish. And wonder if they shed when they grow as I have noticed this gelatinous film coming off him and the other fish eat is . sometimes he gets this film over his eyes making them look cloudy then bamm he starts this shedding is this how they grow?

Foxfaces shed their cuticles much like lionfish. It's really more to rid themselves of accumulated detritus, algae, or parasites than for growth. As long as they don't do this too often, which would suggest an ectoparasitic infestation, it's normal.
