i never been to a frag swap before.how crazy is is it.i know when i go to either aquatic tech or salty critter i could easily spend 100,s of dollors there.whats the average price of frags there.do they also trade frags to.

The first couple of hours of the swap things tend to be pretty chaotic as there will be a lot of people there. This year's venue will afford more space so it shouldn't be cramped. Corals will be available from both members and retail type vendors. Just about anything you can frag will usually be there. Frags typically range from $10-$50 depending on rarity. Suffice to say, there will be plenty of bargins without a doubt so you definitely want to come with some $.

Although there will be plenty more, you can check out fragswapper.com for a preview of the types of things that people are selling.

+1. This is the craziest, largest swap I've been to, and make the 1 1/2 trip every year. I only missed it when I was 8 or 9 months pregnant.

Any posts on what vendors will be there?

This is our first year, and will be driving up from Columbus (2 - 2.5 hours). We are REALLY excited, but nervous at the same time.. lol..

clevebill from what I have read it should be a blast.

I also think that around 3pm, prices start to drop on things. Alot of people frag off things and dont want to put them back in their tanks when they get home. Now, I doubt anything rare or crazy good will be super cheap but for people just starting out there will plenty of $5 frags towards the end (if not freebies).

I have only been to one fragswap but I remember tips and hints being posted. If you have any tips, I think the ones who never have been could use them. I can always use a refresher.

I know one was bring a cooler to put you goodies in to regulate temps.

Bring extra money for raffles

If your having trouble locating someone just ask around, odds our someone will no that person and point you in the right direction.
