so when i cut my toadstool leather off with a sharp knife. and i leave some tissue behind to regrow, im hoping that there wont be an issue with any toxins? whats everyones take on this? i run 24-7 rox carbon
if you leave a "stump" it will regrow.
exactly.
think of the "cap" as a pizza and make slices accordingly.
I'm never short of opinions and here's an unsolicited one from yours truly:
get rid of that Sarco totally. Anybody can grow those things.
I'm in total agreement.IMO if you like it and enjoy looking at it keep it! If not there are a ton of ppl on here that would gladly take it from you. I dont really see what the ease of growth has to do with whether or not you should keep it. I have quite a few LE chalices that grow like weeds but I would never part with them....
any portion of a Sarco that's left behind can possibly grow into another coral. You can use a toothbrush to try and scrub any remaining tissue off. Larger Sarco's will leave behind a tough stump that's very difficult to remove. You can keep slicing at it and blast it with kalk paste and/or liquid alk mix.
Good luck- they can be a real PITA to get rid of.
If you decide to remove it I'm sure that you can fill it's spot with something really nice![]()
