Could the members that received a bag of salt let us know how your packaged arrived. I would like to know if the boxes and the way that the bags were packed held up during shipment.

Mine came well packaged in a flat box with Styrofoam sheets on the top and bottom. It was more than well packaged for salt that was sent for free to try and give review of.
Still have to mix mine as I had 40g of saltwater already mixed for my system. Hope to do so in the next few days though.

Just got home and mine was sitting on my doorstep. :) Package held up perfectly. Thanks!

I'll report my testing when I mix up a batch.

mine arrived in perfect shape. Making some water now. will report values soon. I must say im kinda impressed that tunze sent an entire bag of salt just for testing. i was expecting a little 5 gallon mix bag, but instead received a normal ~50 gallon bag.

Mine arrived, thanks a lot. i will report my findings. Premium Aquatics is selling it now at around .52 a gallon!

ok... results are in for me.... mixed 10 gallons worth to a salinity of 1.026 on my refracto calibrated with pinpoints calibration fluid. It mixed clear in about 5 minutes with very minimal agitation. Just my arm was used to mix. These number are taken about 10 minutes after it was mixed.

Temp. 70 degrees F
Calcium 420 salifert
Alkalinity 10 dkh API
Magnesium 1260 salifert
PH 8.0-8.3 salifert
nitrate 0 salifert
po4 0 salifert

Just wanted to thank you again i recieved my box today and it was perfect.

i dont think i have even had electronics packaged as well everything arrived nice and dry and un damaged (tough to do in FL)

so as soon as i get some water made up in a few days ill post the readings

Long day at work, but I, too, came home to a well packed bag of Tunze salt! I will mix it up for my next water change and post results as well.

Thanks Tunze USA! :)

I made up 13 gal of Tunze Reef Salt to 1.026 which was tested using a 53ms/cm calibrated refractometer. The salt dissolved completely after 30 minutes and was agitated by a Mag 5 powerhead for about a day before the testing.

pH- 8.13-8.14 using Neptune Lab Grade pH probe on an ACIII , an improvement from Instant Ocean salt which registers pH 7.9-8.0 upon mixing.

Ca++ 425 ppm (Elos) as compared to IO's 370 ppm

Mg++ 1300 ppm (Elos) vs. 900 ppm of IO

Alk - 9dkH (Elos) vs. 9-12 dKH IO hasn't been consistent on the alklinity level.

PO4- <0.03 ppm (Elos) IO also contains non-detectable phosphate or nitrate.

NO3- <0.2 ppm (salifer)
