well this still really ****ed me off. NOt being rude, but I bet you wouldnt be happy if you worked out something like this with someone and then he cancels on you.

mburnickas,
it's your live stock and you can do anything you want with them..."however," coming to this board and posting that you're giving something away then reneging is plain wrong. You get peoples hopes up and then disappoint them.

You should have pm'd or talked to whoever it was that you seriously considered one by one and if there was no one left then offer it up to your club members.

You know it's wrong, that's why you wrote this..."If I get some people mad, so be it." That's an inconsiderate statement on your part and your credibility and image just received a black eye..."stick to your word."

Again, when I have gotten PM's from people about others, it is not plain wrong. If someone gets mad at me fine, just need more then that since they do not have a tank setup yet either. I have been in reefs for 14 years and never ever got mad at anyone from not giving me free stuff.

I know salt123 is upset sense he had to "cancel orders". What that involves is beyond me since if you order things for a tank you will need them no matter what. No reason to whine there. Now if you where selling them, to someone else, that is your issue since as I stated I wanted to all together. I could sell them to but I figured this forum these smart users would keep them and know greatful most are to even have them.

No, it is not wrong since the scope of this thread, I started, was started to give them to a good home to other members on this forum. Not take anything for no justification. Not be sold, cramped in a smaller tank, waiting etc etc. If I receive a black eye from certain people, ha have at it. I know in my eyes I did the right thing and I thank this thread. This thread brought issues into "display" and concerns. If it was just me backing out I would agree; however, when many members PM/emails me certain issues, well my image has nothing to do with it.

If it was not for this thread, I would not have gotten serious people involved.

I do thank the CTARS members for the "looking out" for the fish and there wellbeing. For some that still dislike me, well that is fine. I sitll love the hobby and wish to set my small 75 gallon up when I reach my new home (with my family)..in a warmer area :)

Well I honestly think it is inconsiderate to judge the experiance of a person with out acctually exchanging conversation, and you should have made it clearer that you wanted EXTREMELY well experianced reefers. That was a bad on your part. From that I have nothing further to say on this topic.

"you WILL need these orders anyways. It does not matter."
Is that what you think, well I agree with the line I will need them anyway, but im guessing you missed the line where I said I had to pay re-stocking charges and canceling orders while they were in transit, and for orders I have already gotten, I had to send them back, starting over again because a person who is THINKING is going to do the right thing, and just because there going to someone who know about keeping fish, there gonna die someday, and please dont say im not up for keeping your fish, they are the same as any other fish, and im sure that your yellow tang wasnt that happy in the 75 gallon. 125 gallon minimum for any tang. So your the unexpierienced one here.

Great points Pat. And tanks looks great, we just have to work on the 50 now, and getting some more 'poppingly' colored corals in the 175.

Hey reefman and Saltyfdishy grow up, seriously, or stop posting the same things over and over again. Stop crying, he made a mistake no one really cares how "experienced" you guys think one another truly is, seeing as one of you doesnt even have water in a tank yet... STop making this guys rough time in his life even worse because you think you are experienced enough for HIS fish. He apologized thats the best he can do in this situation.

He did not apologize and never ****ing tell me to grow up. Just because reefman dosnt even have water in his tank im sure he has more experience then you, dont ****ing bash at what I say. I dont give a crap of what you think.

I think part of the problem is that from the very start, mburnickas said he wanted the fish to stay together ("I cannot stress that enough and these fish all are happy together" "I would like to keep the fish together; at least the clown and tang together"), but even as of page 4 of this (painfully long) thread, it seemed that reefman and saltyfishy were planning on splitting them up ("Me and Pat are real good friends. And they will be going in my old 50 gallon RR. The yellow will be going into his 175.")

Now I agree that it's not cool to promise somebody something and then take it back (it's happened to me before), but if you were not planning on fulfilling the requirements for the free livestock, I don't think he is under any moral obligation to fulfill his side of the deal. It would have helped if you had read his initial posts more carefully...

I was gonna put them put them all togather, I wouldnt do anything like splitting them up, I would of put them in my 175 reef tank, and the rock was gonna go in the 50, so that might of been confusing

Go back to page 4. The question from mburnickas was:

"Do you or pat know where the fish will be living. I hope it is not in a 10 gal tank here."

The answer from reefman13 was:

"Me and Pat are real good friends. And they will be going in my old 50 gallon RR. The yellow will be going into his 175."

That may not be what you (saltyfishy) were actually planning, but it really seems like reefman was talking about the fish (people do not usually refer to live rock as 'they'). If you notice, mburnickas' decision to give the fish to somebody else came very soon after that post...

To mburnickas, a point of clarification: it seems that saltyfishy sent back or cancelled only the items that he would have been getting from you ("live rock, fish & sand"), not the other things he would have needed to set up the new tank, so it seems he really did lose money as a direct result of the deal falling through.

Finally, to everyone: please make an effort not only to read other people's posts carefully, but also to read your own before hitting that 'submit reply' button. This isn't English class, but a lot of confusion can be avoided by using good grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

ok, here is the deal. I am sure I will become a major $%^& here when some people read this but please read below on. It has been bothering me enough to not sleep last night. Yes, it bothers me this much! If I get a bad rep here so be it. I know in my eyes I AM doing the right thing .

I am not naming members but a have gotten several-to-many PM's/emails from other refer central members about whom takes what, size tanks, length of time being reef members, have a tank setup etc etc. To those members I thank you for bringing it up to my attention; I did not think this would happen on this forum.

Now, it was NOT easy to leave my personal fish to just anyone. I know it sounds stupid but they are my family, per say, and have grown to my liking and my sons. My son (18-months old) LOVES the fish (which is priceless to me and my wife) and it is hard to give them up to just “anyone” since I have spent a lot of time, energy and well-being/emotions on them. It is nice to just sit there and watch them after a long day at work, doing parent duties … etc etc. I have seen them grow up from small to large; People who are parents know what I mean. Yes it sounds odd to some.

So I want an experienced reefer to take them. I have called a RC member (at work) who will take them and get some other stuff. It bothers me , big time, that it seems people will take anything without caring etc. I would rather leave my tank/equipment setup in my retired parents house or inlaws/family and PAY to fly up (from way down south) every 4 to 6 month to make sure all is ok. Yes, I care this much.

My fish, along with my family, have taken a “back seat” during my job interview travels; which is not good. I thought I had enough things to worry about like: selling my home, moving/packing all the items, quitting my job after 13-years (not easy for job “security“), pension plans, 401K’s, wife finding a new job, finding a new house, new job, new schools, new daycare, new doctors, getting to the airport to come home, renting a car, hotel to sleep, getting my 2 pitbulls (which I LOVE) down there, my other autos, tractor etc etc….now add this.

So I thank all the good attentions here but I want a good home to a “large tanked” person that will keep/appreciate the fish along with knowing what “is up“/experience; and keep “ALL” fish together. If people hate me for this, fine, but this action here had to take place and makes it a little easier to leave them.

Is that not a good enough apology/explaination? Lesson learned = be considerate of others. For both sides of the story in this case.

At this point, I'm just going to say "hi" :wavehand: This post subscribes me to this thread, though, so keep it within the [ua] from here out, and stop giving the profanity filters a work out, or my next visit to this thread/forum may not be so friendly.

Lets leave this post alone it can only get worse. Pat your ****ed off and there was some misunderstanding with a couple posts, and as it seems right now the level of irratance can only go up so lets just forget about this thread.....there will be another opertunity....

DaBenzsta08- I think you have a right to freedom of speech, but I am sorry that was a very inconsiderate post on your part...and honestly.....well never mind I am going to be the MATURE one in this case, with insulting....Pat- thanks for backing me up;)
