Ok this is a strange request but it is legitimate and quite serious in nature.
A local tank maintenance and LFS owner (some of you might know who), has a big problem. One of his accounts has a 3 ½ foot long white tip reef shark in it that has to be removed because of it's aggressiveness (imagine that). Problem is he has nowhere to put this animal once it is removed.
The tank owner paid thousands for it and is giving it away to anyone who is willing to pick it up, unfortunately they will not ship.
Before the usual “He should have known better†Posts start I will be the first to say that the inclusion of such an animal into a system no matter how large (it is over 8000 gal in this case), is a bad idea. I do not condone the capture or sell of such animal. These creatures are from the wild and should remain there and that is my professional opinion on it. I am not affiliated with the Company in anyway shape or form other than being friends with the owner. I post this only as a personal favor for him.
If you are interested or know someone who is interested in this offer please let me know ASAP and I will put you in contact with the owner for further information.
PS This is a dangerous wild animal, to house it properly you would need thousands of gallons and a dedicated system.
We are the CVRC-Like I said I never ask much of any of you but "This is what we do" We try to make a difference with the animals in our hobby so lets try to find this guy a home people, start emailing aquariums, zoos etc, I don't care.
I posted this offer in the livestock trade forum as well, hopefully someone will want him. And yes before anyone asks it is Lesters shark.
Thanks,
Ron
