Frostbite clowns!

I just saw the announcement from SA that they have a new morph, the frostbite (Wyoming white x snowflake)! I like to think of them as Dalmatian clowns. I was hoping that these would be a possible out come of the two morphs crossing.
Here's the pic they posted on FB

I don't care what they want to call it, that's the look I've been wanting since I first saw some extremely spotted snowflakes and Wyoming whites.
To each their own. I for one love the spots, especially the holographic blue spots and streaks. I feel it really makes each one unique, while looking at tanks full of standard clowns all day at work has kind of made them too bland to me.

So, if i make an already beautiful fish as ugly as possible and slap a crazy name on it i can charge everyone an outrageous price?! I'm down.

Good lord enough with the morphs/cross breeding already. I don't find them all that attractive. I rather have clownfish as nature created them. However, I do love the B&W clownfish though.

There isn't cross breeding in this case or many cases. Both the snowflake and Wyoming designers are A. ocellaris. Snowflakes are a result of high survival rates of broods in captivity. Picasso, onyx, and black and white clownfish are naturally ocurring patterns/coloring and can e found in the wild.

I have problems with the morphs that look deformed. As long as they look somewhat natural, they don't bother me so much.

My lfs said around $250.00 a pair.I like some of the new morphs,I have a pair of snow onyx, but I still really like 8 year old plain occs.

I'll venture a guess and say that the name is meant to imply that the "special" thing about this morph is the blue and not so much the spots. These might be morphs that COULD be naturally occurring but breeders have helped that along by in-breeding fish with certain traits through multiple generations. Much the same way dogs and snakes are bred. That is the unnatural part. I'm all for captive bred, tank raised fish in our industry for all the obvious reasons and I even have 2 snowflake clowns and 1 Picasso but there will be a point when it starts to get a little out of hand.

I wholeheartedly agree. I find all these morphs rather ugly, especially the Wyoming Whites.

Lol seriously, what's up with all these hate? If you don't like this aspect of the hobby, ignore it and let those who enjoy it focus on enjoying it. I personally don't have a preference for most of these morphs, but there's no need to bash them.

Everybody has different tastes, why not just stick to yours rather than bashing other's?

To be more on topic though, this is actually quite a nice morph. I'd probably never buy one of this, but it does look nice. ;D
