frustrated with Jaebo wp 40

Hello all,
I'm posting to vent my frustration on the jaebo wp40 in my 90 gallon tank. I bought this from fish-street store this past July and I'm on my second replacement housing. This first lasted about 4 months then crapped out. The control unit still showed power but the receiver for the impeller just stopped. I paid 25 dollars shipping for a replacement. That lasted a couple months now it's crapped out. Talking to them is frustrating because the English language is truly a barrier and now I've got no flow in the tank. I know someone will say you get what you pay for but hey I can't afford an mp40 vortech so I make do with what I have. Thoughts anyone?

Maxi jets don't even compare to these. I haven't had any issues with my 3 wp25's. But sometimes you get lemons. If you were going to get something different I would recommend Hydor's over a Maxi jet any day. Just my 2 cents though.

If you haven't done it yet, post on CORA and see if someone has something you can borrow to get you by until you figure out what to do.

I agree maxijets are no comparison to these and I've had hydor before but am Leary because I've had several where the chords eventually wear out and leak electricity into the tank

Same with me I have had 4 unit replace in the last year. Each time it cost me 20 dollars to get a replacement. The last time he made me a deal with two controller and two replacement pumps for 30 dollars and two WP60 replacement pumps for for 50 dollars. Now I have 4 replacement wp40 parts and two WP60 replacement parts.

I thought you were looking for a pump that works within your budget. Start saving for a more reliable pump.

You're just the unlucky one, there will be lemons china is certainly not up to ISO quality standards. Most (as judging by my personal experience and most of the posts) work great.

thats why there are many post about how long they last for in other sections. Some people are just butthurt because they paid 500+ for a pump that does the same. How many times do you hear about how some vortechs mess up after a few months. I read quite a few. Some people just have bad luck.

The difference is that you actually get quality Customer Service from EcoTech.

I agree, but if a jebao last me for a year a piece that is 6.5 years for the same price.. if they last two years that would be 13 years for same price. So i think you get my point. I don't even use them. I have just experimented with them and vortices. I didn't seem much of a difference between them at all..

The Jebao is nothing like a vortech pump, they are a knockoff of a tunze pump. I paid $300 for my tunze 6105 that is about 3 years old with no problems at all. People have tunze pumps that are 10-15 years old, and there is great service backing them up whether they are in warranty or not.

The jebaos have not even been out a full year yet AFAIK...so I would not get too carried away with their longevity just yet. I am butthurt about nothing, I would gladly spend the price i did for tunzes. Some people do not mind paying for quality....so stop thinking that we are jealous of the difference in price. They are not of the same quality.

I wouldn't go that far with "quality". In the past I've sent in the wet side for my mp40 because it was making some kind of noise. I was told that there was sand in it. My setup at the time was BB and I had just cleaned the wet side before shipping it off to them... I wonder how sand got into the wet side:rolleyes:.

And what was the outcome?
