FS: A. Samoensis colony

I'd love to pick this up cuz it's a steal, but I'm sure if you can't get it to color up, I don't stand a showball's chance in h3ll to get it colored...................

Bump.................

Since then, a number of people keep trying to convince me how intense rykwong's lights are compared to 250's! Which doesn't make sense to me since a) I never said they weren't

if your sig is right, you're not running very intense lighting anyway with SE 175's.

I don't know, I guess this is like the 3rd or 4th time I have to repeat myself...

Summary: no one thought or wrote that rykwong didn't have plenty of light. the point is that people seem to think that blasting their corals with 400w MH's is the answer to good coloration.

I wasn't trying to prove anything, so I didn't feel the need to make myself crystal clear I was comparing his SE 175's to 400's. All I was relaying was sometimes you can reduce light and get better coloration...it was his smartass remark that he should try PC's if that's true that elicted me saying that his 175's weren't that intense...and I stand by my comment in context. Yeah, that's right, I didn't tell or suggest for either of you to change your lights--I didn't say that either of your lights were so intense to warrant actually changing them. What DID I suggest: lower your coral...

...and wouldn't you know it...someone else actually suggested this to another member as the reason he wasn't getting great color on his moniti's: http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1132924

The real question is why this turned into a debate anyway...I wasn't even trying to prove anything to you. I was just passing along something that my friend inadvertantly found out. If you didn't want to try it out, you didn't have to. Seemed harmless enough to me? Sorry, I'll remember not to do that in the future

EDIT: You know, if you feel the need to drag this on further, would you mind explaining what we are debating?

Is it: rykwong's lights are bright enough?
Because if that's what it is, I agree.

Is it: rykwong's lights are brighter than some 250 DE lights?
Because if that's what it is, I agree.

Is it: rykwong does not need to change to PC lights?
Because if that's what it is, I agree.

Is it: rykwong's lights are not intense enough that he needs to switch to PC lighting?
Because if that's what it is, I agree.

Is it: rykwong's lights might be so intense that some of his corals may not color up as much as he'd like?
Because if that's what it is, I agree.

maybe argument was a wrong word on my choice... lets call it a discussion instead... no need to get all worked up. I'm merely trying to understand your logic and explain mine that is all. No need to carry this on further, but I do appreciate all the free bumps.

SteveOhh, you might have better luck with this coral than me haha, i just don't have the patience for it and I wouldn't mind making room for some of my other frags to color up.

I wasn't getting worked up, sorry if I came across that way.
I thought I wasn't making myself clear so I kept trying to explain my point.

I think someone has a crush on Ying. lol.

This is such a good deal.

How about putting it in my tank and if it colors up you will get a nice frag back? Done deal.

Loc

greg: Lemme sleep on that one haha. Doesn't sound too bad since its taking up space in my tank.

Loc, if you want to give it a shot, come on by. Better than driving to norco to drop it off for greg lol.

thanks xtm

haha, yeh that's what i'm thinking franky and I doubt I'll upgrade my lighting for one coral lol. Oh well... if someone wants to give it a shot... the color is supposed to be a really nice blue.

Ying,

I'll take it.....................I'll see how it does under my 400 Radium....

I'll call you later today or tomorrow to schedule pickup....

Steve :D

I'm not trying to crash your guy's party, lighting is always a good debate. I've been in this hoby for so long that I have tried it all (except the new Solaris system)

I had some issues with corals coloring up and I do have a Samoensis as well currently under a 250 hqi 14k. The problem turned out to be phosphates and I was just woundering if you test for them?

sounds good steve, give me a call, we'll work something out =)

bbishop, my phos is .04 on the hanna
