Full Tank Progression Shots

This tank is the reason why I'm still in the reef hobby! Truly an inspiration. Your tank and Jason's at Greenwich Aquaria are just crazy tanks! Keep up the good work!!

So, what's your current fish list? Your corals are so big that I can't see some of the fish:)

Great shots Reefbum. Once the corals begin to take off, there is no stopping them :) Thanks for sharing.

:eek1: WOW!!! Your tank is amazing! Nice pics. I can't believe how quickly your frags have grown into big colonies. Awesome job. I think you might know a thing or two about keeping a successful reef huh?:D

Amazing...if you look at the tank now, it appears as if you have a ton of rock in there, when really so little and all corals....great pics

Like I've said before; Really nice tank and cool to see the progression shots and the faster and faster growth of the corals.

You DA MAN REEFBUM. That tank must of cost a small fortune, but i bet it's worth every penny seeing how nice it is. How much does all your equipment cost? Looks like you got everything top of the line. Just want an estimate of how much i'll have to spend in order for my tank to look as nice as yours. hehehe.

BTW,

Do you do water change? if so, how much and how often?

Reefbum, you are my hero! hehe. I really like your rock setup, it's simple but very very nice. do you know what would be awesome? If you post a video of your tank on youtube!

When you first put your frags onto the rocks, do you glue them there?

Those are some great shots - really convey the change in your aquarium well. I'm afraid if I did mine over two or three years, none would like the same because I rearrange so often! The goniopora looks like it's doing pretty well in your system - do you direct feed it?
Thanks. One thing I have learned is to not mess with or tinker with stuff. The more I keep my hands out of the tank the better things are....just let nature take its course. As for the goni and other LPS, no direct feeding.

Wow amazing progress, what an inspiration I just started a 30 gallon tank about a month ago, was skeptical about venturing into this hobby. I have to admit I feel like it's my worst addiction, I started off with a false percula clown fish, then introducing every other week a 6line wrasse, goby clown fish if he's still alive, and a royal gramma, mandarin physcoldelic fish, and a few bubble anemones. Then a few "enough to support the 30 G tank" turbo snails, hermit crabs, emerald crabs, a variety of corals, now which I'm proud too have done my research too be able too maintain a happy life for them. I'm constantly surveying the real-estate in my tank to see what will be my next coral purchase. I know some people would think that I'm crazy for make such a huge investment in such a short period of time with my tank set up but it seems that I was born with a "salty thumb" instead of a green thumb! I will figure out somehow being new to forums and start posting my progress pics to show every true reefer.

Cheers
Bravo
Thank you. Look forward to seeing your progress pics...this hobby is addicting to say the least. :p

really awesome tank... great growth and color.

Personally though, i like the look of the tank around september 2008-january 2009 the most.. i think that being able to see between the islands really helps the look of the tank, as well as keeping that green slimer on the far left down to size.

Get fraggin dude!
Many thanks. I know what you mean by those earlier shots. I really went minimal on the rock to get that open look and I guess I could have gone with less :D

Ahhh....the cost of all of my equipment....I believe I have blocked out that info.

As for water changes, I do about 15% on a weekly basis.

Thanks! I will have to work on that video.

Yes....frags were attached to small rocks and then attached to the base rocks with 2 part putty.

Thanks! As for additives, I use Cyclopeeze and Tropic Marin Pro-Coral Zooton and feed it to the tank with a turkey baster when I feed my fish. I also use Roti Feast and Oyster Feast daily and Kent Marine Lugol's solution is added once a week.

In terms of maintenance and husbandry, I perform a 30-gallon water change every week using Coralife salt. Additionally, each week the sponge in the sump is rinsed clean and the sump filter bags are cleaned in the washing machine (of course, no soap is used). Every week I clean the skimmer collection cup and empty the waste cup. The becketts on the skimmer are cleaned every three months. Other things like cleaning the pumps and sump are done on a periodic basis.

This tank has always been the primary inspiration for my own build. So glad you've been taking shots like this it's a real treat to see your fantastic growth so easily. Keeping rockwork and camera work consistent makes for an amazing sequence!

Keep it up...tho not TOO up since that tank is going to fill soon enough!
