Funky Chamber - Fusion Nuvo 20

Wondering if anyone utilizes this bottom funky chamber (highlighted in green) of the Fusion Nuvo 20.

I'm guessing not much flow there... Would it be ok to stick a heater in there (flow wise)?

I have ceramic media there to help filtering. [emoji3][emoji106]
I was thinking of that too, but got scared of detritus that might get trapped in that funky space and figured hey at least stick a heater in there to utilize this dead space.

What sort of ceramic media are you using? Blocks? rings? ANy detritus problems?

Those aren't chambers, No reason to stick anything in there.

You have plenty of room to stick your heater in the back next to the return pump without trying to jamb it in a corner.

There are similar spaces in the Fluval EVO. I put some rock rubble in the middle chamber with no discernible affect on flow.

My guess is the designers meant that space to be a water volume buffer so when the center section drops you don't starve the pump as fast as if they were not present. Filling the spaces with hardscape would defeat this purpose somewhat. Of course, this assumes my assumption is correct.
