Gabriel's NEW 300 Gallon Envision Tank ((PICS INTENSE))

Thanks Gabriel, I'll check them out. I had planned to make my own but those look really nice. Interestingly, one of my probes needs to be located in an area not close to the others...

Yeah they sell them online and i am sure that they can make one custom for you i am sure.. Steve is a real cool guy... shoot him a call or email.

Update....
stnadcorner001.jpg

Well the live rock is just about done curing so i put it in...

stnadcorner002.jpg
as of today the ammonia levels are reading 2 so i will still have a few water changes to do before i can put anything in there.

I set up my 2 smaller tanks for the fish. I wont get the bulkheads for the 300 till Friday so i am only running the 6200 streams now... those things FLOW!!!

I don't know if i like the way the rock work turned out... i put a lot of tunnels and caves for my fish but i don't know how that will look as a reef tank... The back is open no rock leaning against it....

What do you guys think of the rock work? Should i change it?

Now that i have a new T5 ballast I didn't realize how yellow the older t5 bulbs had become over the past year... i am getting some new ones, Giesemann 54 watt T5's from reefgeek. i will place the order Monday.

oh yeah Randy stopped by and dropped off the acrylic stand for the Barr and a planter box for the red mangrove's

One more thing... I cant get my icecap ballasts to fire the pfo pendants and xm bulbs i will have to make some phone calls on Monday to see whats wrong. I wired them the way that it say to but i am not getting any light... Any one have some tips for me?

Rock work is OK. Kind of a Zen appeal to it. You'll change it a few times before your are comfortable with it.:D

Zen is what i thought too, doesn't really stand out.. guess ill be getting my hands and the floor wet again....

Not that you need it, but here are the arches in my tank...

Maybe it will inspire you or something...

Man I can't wait until I move so I can have my 280gal..... 2 more years.. Just 2 more years...

The rockwork looks nice, but it seems as if you have very little space to mount corals. From the pictures it looks like the rockwork goes strait up, and you can't really put anything on them. I def like those large flat pieces, a lot of potential. Goodluck with the curing and all that plumbing.

No, change it, honestly I like your whole setup, it is acrylic, lots of technology, wavebox, awesome sump.

But the rockwork is not good enough. I see that you are missing the effect of deepness.

I would place the rockwork in a triangle position, rocks higher on the back, and lower at the front, like a stair. Also you can place more corals like that. In your current rockwork setup I can see that many corals will probably be covered by a good deal of shadow, plus you are not creating the effect of deepness.

Great work so far! I agree totally with plancton about the rockwork... Honestly, not trying to be brutal, but the equipment that will not be displayed has more eye candy in it than the rock work in the display tank. Correct me if I'm wronge but you probably went w/ a lot of large flat rock because you wanted to maximize your coral base. This is great but like plancton said, it doesn't have depth to it. Given the size of the tank, adding some small islands in the front and more use of smaller size rock might help. Small formations in the front and big formations in the back. Don't be afraid to take out the hammer and chissel to create more interesting shapes. Again, nice work so far.

Thanks for your comments.. you know i didn't even think about breaking the rock to get more interesting pieces, i just put it in the way i got it...... this weekend i will take all the rock out and do it again placing smaller pieces in the front and larger taller pieces in the back to give the perception of depth...

All comments are wanted good or bad:D

Good new got my bulkheads today and will replacing the broken ones... I had to fab a socket to get the broken one out...ill redo the rock work sat, ill break some pieces to make them connect (look) better... Ill hook up the Aquatronica Friday night as well and if everything goes well i will have the tank running by Sunday!

Hey bebo77 !

Incredible setup !! Just wondering how your battery (black box on the wall) works ? What does it power and for how long ?

Do you a link to it ?

Where I can get one like that !

Thanks !

its a UPS i got it from costco it only runs the tunze's for 30- 45 min max.. not really worth it in my mind i thought i would get at least an hour out of it...

Update lights and canopy are up....

Rock work looks a lot better in person.. real sense of depth now... cant really see that in the pics though...

Canopy on.. it is beautiful on the tank Sean....

i MH didn't fire middle left...

Big inprovement from last time. Just make sure the rockwork is stable enough, you know better then we do looking at it online. Also, are you going to cover up the stuff on the bottom with some sort of stand?
