Gate Valve

Thread Lurker
Where can I get a 1.5" pvc gate valve WITHOUT the screw in middle of handle? I see all the ones with the screws but trying to find the ones without.

The screw holds the handle on. I am not sure why you want one without it. Are you concerned about the metal? You don't need to worry if it is not in the waterway.

Unless you get lucky you will have tons of trouble finding one without a screw because that means that the knob/handle and stem would have to be all casted as one peice. With plastic gate valves the inards are all pvc. Working with this stuff seems that Hayward is a reliable product and easy to work on.

Never seen one myself without a screw. Are you planning on submerging it ... or nearly submerged?

Could use a dab of silicone or something to make it waterproof or nearly waterproof.

I've always had really good luck with 'hot glue'.

The aquatic eco gate valves have metal screws too :)

The knife valves have SS shafts.

sorry for bumping an old thread

So there is absolutely no possibility of contamination from the metal screw? I have it ~ 4 - 6" above the water level.

TIA
