GBTA out and fully open at night, less open and more hiding at day...

Hey guys,

Just a quick question. I have had by GBTA for a few weeks now, and it is doing great. It has colored up even more since I got it, and has a pinkish disk and nice green tentacles. At night, he seems to be more out and super open, with longer tentacles. Then, during the day, the GBTA hides a bit more, but is still out in the open, and the tentacles get much more "bubbly", rather than long. It is under 130 watts of 50/50 power compact bulbs, about 8 inches from the bulb. Is it normal for it to open up a bit more at night, then be a bit more "closed-up" during the day? It may be that it is still adjusting to the flow and lighting in the tank..

Thanks!

My guess is that it is still adjusting to the lights. It might have been kept in lower lighting prior to you getting it three weeks ago. In time, you might find that it is larger in the day when the lights are on and then smaller at night, at least that's how mine are.

Yeah, at the LFS that I got it at, it was just kept under a few t-12 fluorescent tubes. Now it is getting much more light. How long do you think it will take for it to adjust to the lights? Eventually, when it is adjusted, do you think that it will pretty much "search" for light, and be fully open?

Thanks!

I've got two, a GBTA & RBTA. BOTH hide under rocks and away from my 2x 250w MH's + 2 54w Actinics.

My guess is: gary's right: just gettign used to teh new digs.

Mine really only present when they're hungry. Then I feed them Silver sides or Sand Eels.
