I have a 37 cube housing my anemones and clarkii pair. There are three gbta's (all splits over time from one). I've had the original amenone since March '06. The first split was October 06'. The most recent spilt (still of the larger, "mother") was just last week. The most recent split and the "mother" seem fine, well inflated and good color. The first split-off from almost nine months ago has recently started to pinch off some of it's tips. It often looks a little deflated--you know how anemones look just before they excrete food waste material? Also, strangely, this anemone chooses to live almost in the direct flow of a maxi-jet 1200. These guys are under 150 watts of 14k MH lighting. I feed them bits of silversides every week to week and a half--larger peices for the big one, smaller for the smaller, not often a whole silverside each.
I am guessing aggrivation from the direct flow is responsible. But, obviously, I need other thoughts. Has this happened to your anemone?
Thanks in advance,
Ben
