GBTA pinching off tips

I have a 37 cube housing my anemones and clarkii pair. There are three gbta's (all splits over time from one). I've had the original amenone since March '06. The first split was October 06'. The most recent spilt (still of the larger, "mother") was just last week. The most recent split and the "mother" seem fine, well inflated and good color. The first split-off from almost nine months ago has recently started to pinch off some of it's tips. It often looks a little deflated--you know how anemones look just before they excrete food waste material? Also, strangely, this anemone chooses to live almost in the direct flow of a maxi-jet 1200. These guys are under 150 watts of 14k MH lighting. I feed them bits of silversides every week to week and a half--larger peices for the big one, smaller for the smaller, not often a whole silverside each.
I am guessing aggrivation from the direct flow is responsible. But, obviously, I need other thoughts. Has this happened to your anemone?

Thanks in advance,
Ben

I know something like this happened to Tourkid with her GBTA after it split three times but I am not sure if Tourkid ever figured out what was going on. When's the last time you did your last water change?

Last water change was about one week ago. I change five gallons once a month. I took some pics today. I will post them when in the morning or when I have a bit more time. Thanks for the response. Sunday is a tough day to get replies. I bet more folks can chime in through the early part of the week.

Cheers,
Ben

havent stopped by in awhile, but i noticed your thread. I cant seem to find the pictures of mine anymore but I also answered another thread like this one awhile back.

mine would twist its tenicles off, then sprout a new one. the twisted off tenicle would flot around and sting my lps.

It also would twist off just the tip of a tenicle and then grow a new pink tip. it was rapidly doing it for a lil while (like a few a day)

It has been a few months since then. I find a tenicle laying on the sand or coral maybe 1 time every month or so.

My nem was still inflated and happy, no issues. but right now actually my nem hasent fully inflated in a few weeks and now today, well im pretty sure its splitting right this minute (inspired me to hang out in the nem forum for a lil bit) ;)

it should be ok. if you move the flow it'll just move too...

Interesting. Do you have any reason to think it's not stress or health related? Mine hasn't lost many of its tips--just a few. I'll keep close eye on it and ramp up the WCs a bit. Thank for chiming in.

Ben
