Gem Tang on DD today

it looked drab and dark to me...may have just been the pic but I was not "wowed" by it...I don't love gems but can appreciate a nice one...imo, tonight's fell way short...

I really cant imagine spendin that kinda dough on any fish let alone this one. Tangs are by far my favorite type of fish but in all honesty, there are at least ten that i find more appealing. Just out of curiosity, what makes the gem tang so exceptional that it carries such a huge price tag? Is it a very rare fish?

They are pretty much only collected in one place, and thats seasonal.

Somebody lied to you. How did the 5 local to me come from the same exact wholesaler yet they are priced as low as 2000.00? Most Gems are 1200 from the wholesaler.

The Gem tang is no longer on DD site. I guess it sold. I was surprised it lasted so long.

Yes it was at the American wholesalers in Los angeles. They had 2 and they were about 2.5-3"

WoW and I was arguing with myself if spending 1100€ ( 1400 $ ) on a gem tang would be crazy.
