Gem's 110 gal

gem

Totally over it
Well....after the tank stand mess.....Rafael convinced me to build my own stand to fit the tank, rather than try to reinforce something that was too big and really just complicated everything. He even offered to help me build it. Thank you Rafael. Fortunately for him, a friend of mine that happens to be a private contractor has volunteered to build the stand. He's got all the 2x4's that I got this morning cut and ready to go and will come back tomorrow to build the frame.

I disassembled the entire 125 stand, mostly because it was in the way, but also because I will be using the base.
I cut the base down to 61 inches long and added an end to the cut end of the bases frame. So, now I had all these pieces of this stand leaning on the wall, along ith a piece of the base. Oddly.....it was just big enough for a 10 gal tank.....and I was bored, so............
I built a 10 gal stand out of the leftovers.

you're a dork Ginger. What's going in the 10 gal

Yes, but a resourceful dork! :p
I'm putting a 10 gal together for my neighbor's daughter. Robbi actually gave me the 10 gal tank for her, since he goes to school with her. The only thing that was holding up putting the tank up was her mother wanted a stand for it. :D

HAHAHAHAHA!

The stand is all framed with 2x4 and ready to skin. I got 1/2 inch birch ply wood and trim for the corners. I still need to put that on. I am also going to add some more trim, as well as make doors out of 3/4 in birch.
But, here's as far as we got today. I'm pretty happy with it so far.
