Well....after the tank stand mess.....Rafael convinced me to build my own stand to fit the tank, rather than try to reinforce something that was too big and really just complicated everything. He even offered to help me build it. Thank you Rafael. Fortunately for him, a friend of mine that happens to be a private contractor has volunteered to build the stand. He's got all the 2x4's that I got this morning cut and ready to go and will come back tomorrow to build the frame.
I disassembled the entire 125 stand, mostly because it was in the way, but also because I will be using the base.
I cut the base down to 61 inches long and added an end to the cut end of the bases frame. So, now I had all these pieces of this stand leaning on the wall, along ith a piece of the base. Oddly.....it was just big enough for a 10 gal tank.....and I was bored, so............
I built a 10 gal stand out of the leftovers.
