Gem's 110 gal

Lookin' nice Ginger. I'm jealous of that hood. Mine has a little door that opens up. I wish my lights lifted up and away like that L shaped piece you have. Makes cleaning and maintenance SOOO much easier. I'm always getting sizzled by the 400 whenever I'm scrapin'.

Next build...next build. I gotta list of improvements goin...

Actually, Joel....the lights won't lift up....they'll be suspended from the 2x4's behind the lid.

Well....mild set back. I was so hapy with the redone canopy that I didn't bother putting it on top of the tank to see how it fit. Well....it didn't. One corner or the other would fall off. I don't know where I went wrong measuring and moving bracing around. But no matter what I did, I just messed it up worse.
I walked away from it for a few days and started back on it today. I took the whole thing apart and reameasured and recut everything. This is where I'm at now. Just needs a couple more things and the trim. I'm really happy with it now. :D

Please ignore the disaster that is my garage!!!

That I did. Left the baseball cap on the hat rack this time!!! No...no tool belt. Dork! :p

Hey, tool belts are sooooo cool!!!!:D

Looking good Ginger. Can't wait to see some water in it. Just don't rush it. That's when you put up with mistakes that'll drive you nuts down the road. Trust me.:D

Saaaaaaaaawweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!! Justin...YOU ROCK!

Worked on the canopy this morning! Got the trim done and the little bit of tweeking I needed to make it fit perfectly. Ever try to split plywood? I had to cut an inch and a half off the bottom sides of the lid. I figured the trim would cover that, but it didn't. Had to do some splicing but needed the plywood thinner, so I used a screw driver and hammer to split it. I know...Mickey Moused but it worked and the lid doesn't stick on the trim of the tank anymore.

And here's the finished canopy. I just wish it wasn't raining so I could slap at least one coat of Polyurethane on it!!! :(

BTW Kenny......I wore a baseball cap today! :p

Yes....looks alot like Oak doesn't it? You don't even want to know their lame excuse for that piece...since it was marked Birch.

Ginger - I might have to hire you to come over and help me for my stand and canopy build!

As long as you are wearing the tool belt and baseball cap of course....
