Genesis Reef Renew System review - automatic water changer

Does this system allow you to dose less to your system? Im in the process of moving to a 200 gal in wall system I just switched from dosing to a calcium reactor and was just wondering how this could affect the water peram in a positive way to make it more stable.

Thanks for posting that great review. I have visited the Genesis website many times considering the system but never could get a real handle on how it operated. Your photos and explanation was crystal clear. It's time to place an order.

Hi Guys been looking at something like this for a while. Quick question about set up though. How do you integrate this with (in my case) a tunze top up function for evaporated water. I can see that I would need to disable the top up some how when the salt water change is taking place otherwise the drop in water level during the exchange would trigger the evap top off. Any thoughts??

If you get the storm and renew systems, the two control heads are connected and won't let that happen. That said it is a stand alone system so the Tunze will not be necessary.

I use a controller for my topoff which is set to run for 30 seconds and then wait for 9:30 - that way it limits how fast topoff goes in.

Yes, it kicks on when the water changes, then just evaporates.

That little bit of extra water doesn't hurt anything on my tank.

Or get the storm from genesis, it's a really nice system

I have my Genesis PRO system running now. I just ordered some extension cables so the auto water change part is not available yet but I am using the Rocv and Storm modules. Can't wait to get the whole system going.

Put both above the sump. That's how I had mine
Won't work for me, my tank only has 4-5 inches behind it and I would have to drill holes through my hardwood floors. Even if i did, I would need pumps that could pump the water from my basement.

Does anyone have the phone number for these guys? Their website 'contact us' function seems to be down right now. I'd like to chat with them about the setup I'm contemplating prior to my purchase. Thanks, Chris
