ok still no reply from geo. Ive sent him 3 emails and nothing. I'm wondering if I'm wasting my time. Is he usually like this? I have a nice order for him but can't seem to get the time of day. IF anyone speaks with him please ask him to get a hold of me. Thanks!!!

he has been out of town working this past week. He is usually really good about responding.

here is a pic of my new GEO skimmer before being hooked up. not quite as fancy as a 7 foot air driven one, but I'm sure I'll be more than happy with it.

Is it up and running yet?

not yet, hopefully tomorrow. I've been having some issues with my x-10's not working properly and have had to mess with those the past few days. that combined with lazyness = no online skimmer :)

dgas - the wetneck will make your skimmate wetter if you don't drop the water level a LOT in the skimmer...this is my experience. they really make the riser greasy and it rises really easy w/ it...and can bring extra water if not tuned different

I'm happy to be the newest member of the GEO club. Just got a Kalk and Calcium reactor. It took 2 months but it's worth it. Now I've got my eye on one of those recirculating skimmers.

Here are some updated pictures of my Geo Skimmer

Thanks Lunchbuket

It smells worse then it looks. My Grilfriend was not very happy with me last night. :D

That's the sign of a maturing relationship!!!

Are the recirculating skimmers all custom then?

no a recirc. skimmer is not custom just if you want to change the height, tube, etc. I think he just hasn't updated the website.

I ended up with 6 airstones of the 6" type. Each is rated at 0.5 CFM max.

How often will you have to REPLACE the airstones.. That could get kinda tedious.

Reminds me of my old Berlin Airlift 90.......ahhh kinda...

Really sweet by the way

Hello All!

I just ordered a Geo CR 624 and it should be here first of next week. I debated between this and the Schuran JS1. I chose the Geo unit for several reasons over the Schuran.

Does anyone use the Schuran media/Schuran knock-off media in this unit?

What initial settings do most people use? I was thinking something like 45 bubbles/min and 60 mls/min effluent and go from there. How about pH? --> with larger media would you still run it around 6.5 or 6.6 to dissolve it (low like the Schuran unit)?

thanks,
