Getting started with SPS

Hi, I've recently picked up some SPS frags (green slimer and a sean benett tri color) and I was wondering what sort of things effect polyp extention. Im guessing water quality is a big one? TIA

water quality, flow, and perhaps light.

water quality is huge. especially water param stability. too much flow can effect polyp extention. instead of looking at polyp extention, look for growth! that is how u know ur water params are stable!
