GFO turning skimmate orange?

I just introduced GFO in my IM 25 Lagoon a couple days ago. Icecap K1 Nano skimmer and Aquagadget Minimaxx reactor.

I rinsed, and top of the GFO is slightly tumbling, nothing is floating around inside the reactor. Flow is on the low end for sure.

Does this clear up eventually? Not sure what else to do with it.

The GFO brand is TL Reefs.

To rinse I use the reactor after filled & run water until clear @ a faster rate than normally used. Is this how you did it?

Sort of. The Minimaxx doesn't have the traditional output line. It has holes at the top that it flows up and out of. I rinsed it in the reactor and let it flow out until clear.

??? took a look @ the Minimaxx
Cant tell but there does seem to be a sponge filter under the holes so the only other thing is the GFO itself,
TLF is what I use with no color change anywhere but the flow is not near the skimmer either.

There is a sponge below the holes, 2 of them actually.

I dunno, we'll see in a couple days I guess.

if not rinsed well enough or if the flow rate is too high i've had the same thing happen.
The particles grind against each other if too high of flow, same with carbon.
