Ghellin's 180 build.

Thanks! The wired ldd drivers would not be friendly. The boards have headers that the ldd drivers plug into. If you have the wired ones you could possibly strip the wires back a bit and try to plug the wires into their respective socket. May work, but it's not designed that way as you know.

I have been busy this week! I have got the light to the test phase finally! Nothing explains it better than pics sooooo.

Royal Gramma has now finished TT and is happy in his huge new home!

PSU's wired and ready to go.

LDD's wired for power and PWM signal.

LEDs greased and attached to the T slot heatsinks

Wired and ready for testing...

And finally after all this time we now have light.

Channel 1 Royal Blue

Channel 2 400nm-410nm UV

Channel 3 410nm-420nm UV

Channel 4 Cool White

Channel 5 Neutral White

Channel 6 Warm White

All Whites.

All RB and UV

And all on

Looks great! I just upgraded to a 180! I'm using your plan! What type lighting and return pump? Are you using 1" pvc?

Lighting is DIY LEDs and T5. This will be packed with clams and corals so color is very important to me. Right now I am using a mag9.5 return until I buy a fluval SP6 or DC pump. Plumbing is a 1.5" WYE that feeds 3 1" lines. 2 1" returns to the tank and the 3rd feeds my reactor manifold.

Lighting has been hung on the tank tonight! The bluefish is awesome on cloud mode. It is seriously freaky seeing different channels slightly dim simulating passing clouds. Feels like I am outside on a partially cloudy day.

I will get pics up tomorrow.

Thank you both very much!

As this is a slower build and the wood facade will not be on my short list, I needed a temporary canopy to hold lights and also let me start planning how I want to build the canopy when that time comes. $35 in pvc and it is solid as a rock.

Dave, you haven't been following along :spin1:

Looking good, Mr. Kot-ter!!! :D

Who is doing your cabinet work? I'm having trouble finding someone I trust to do mine.

My tank had a small setback this weekend (found scratch inside tank...waiting to hear how LFS/Planet are going to address it), so I'm falling further behind you.

I'm wanting to do a "I'll show your mine if you show me yours" tank excursion, but at this rate, that'll be 2020...

Thanks! Hate to hear about the scratch, that's horrible!

I am going to do my wood work that is why I am dragging my feet. Frankly I am scared of messing it up lol. But I suppose come January I will get started on it. I have it mostly designed in my head, now to get it actually done is the trick. I will do the Canopy first as it will be easier to do. Should be 3 doors on the front and one on each side. The stand will be 3 pieces that will be held in place by magnets to the steel frame.

I am down for a show you mine show me yours!

I have finally taken time to learn Google sketch up so I can show what's in my head. This is basic plans minus trim work (i haven't figured that out yet)

Yeah for sure!

Added doors, and better illustrated how the heatsinks will be raised to disperse heat better.
