The hood is lined with a dryer vent that I stretched all the way open then stood on it to flatten then cut it in half length ways...I got a lot of material that way ;-)(It is what was lying around at the time)

I apparently really liked it because it is also covering up the space where the light bleeds into your eyes from the back of the tank...

Its a Beckett rated for 400gal so what can I say... Precision Marine recommends that pump (an Iwaki 70) as the best match for the skimmer.

Ok

#1 Chineese Wonton Soup container with holes in the bottom to filter the water coming from my Protein skimmer (GAC). Using Ozone.

#2 Lizard water bottle to drip kalkwasser

#3 I have a wall socket right next to all of this so I have a strip of cellophane wrap to protect it from salt and corrosion.

And this does not feel that ghetto now after what I have sen but hey I'll add it. I went to the dollar store and they have battery powered led lights.. BLUE so I thought hmm.. I used scotch tape and taped it to the back of my light system.

Works good... and I have to change the 3-AA only like once a month.

And the switch on top of the lights to turn them on and off also taped to the hood.

I think we all have something ghetto rigged in some way. I made mention to a local reefer how his ghetto rig with 2 x 4's to set his light above the tank was smiliar to my older 75g setup, upon returning home from my visit he sent me a nasty pm b/c he aparently couldn't come to terms with his DIY lights. He didn't approve of the term! It wasnt hurtful, its just something we all do!!
