Ghetto Rig

It just uses air pressure to lift the solutions into the pvc drippers. The long sections are the overflows because the timer only goes down to 1 minute increments so I can't be 100% sure how much solution goes into the drippers on any given day. The bottom of the 'T' is measured at 144mls with the remainder in the drip line.

Groovy,

I like your solution... very similar to mine (pages back) but I use water pumps instead of air pumps... also on irrigation drippers and also on digital timers. I used the 0.5 gph drippers and used 7 day programming timers so i can do different dosage per day so I can meet the total dosage a week I need. FYI for those people who does not know, the drippers are pretty accurate irregardless of pressure.

Good Job....

I made an "overflow box" with household items.
Tell me what you think.

The brackets for the shelf let me update my overflow which has been running strong for a while now. I added an air vent to the drain tube and got rid of the garden hose. Yesterday my MH ballast melted on me and tripped the ground fault while I was at work. Proud to say my system didn't flood.

I have a new addition to this thread. I guess if I'd read the Tunze Osmolator specs I'd have discovered the puny little pump has a max height of 3.7m! I thought I better mount my topoff bucket as close to the tank as possible (main floor). So here she is and I've already smoked my head on this thing.

You look like you're home alone and waiting for the burglars to show up.

Here is my home made wet/dry trickle setup on a 29g Reef in my bedroom that i set up in Feb 2009.

These are the completed filter towers and overflow line.

FilterDrawer.jpg

Here is one of the drawers that i drilled holes in the bottom for drainage and stuffed with dollar store pot scrubbers.

FilterFlossDrawer.jpg

This is the top two drawers with filter floss to remove large detritus. Its since been switched to the blue and white pad type floss. Also i sandwhich carbon between two layers of floss.

I used an 18g rubbermaid container for the sump and I have a small tetra pond pump for the return pump.

Shot of the tank a week after it was set up.
