Yes I could have done it off of one Tee. Like the stability and extra weight the 2nd Tee will give me

i love this thread! some awesome money saver ideas for when i get around to my first ever build and also some awesome back of your mind quick fixes with every day items if something in the tank breaks down and needs quick attention! haha

Not super ghetto... but cheap and effective.

After flooding my basement a bunch of times because I would forget to shut the RO/DI system off while filling water change barrels I found this timer at home depot for 8 bucks.

Its probably kept a couple hundred gallons of water off my floor since I installed it. :wildone:

Cheapest, dumbest thing I ever installed and now can't live without.

Keep an eye on that timer. I use two outside and one sticks on from time to time. Waste of money outside, but be a little worse in your basement.

I've noticed it sticks going from off to on sometimes, always seems to shut off fine though. Definitely keep an eye on it though thanks! Still better than what I use to have... which was a bad memory and a wet basement lol

Not my tank per say, but ole faithful brought a lot of fish home! Pretty much all that's holding it together is fishing line and zip ties. Even the bottom of the net has holes that are ziptied!

How much are these per pound?

6 for a dollar. I estimate 6 pot scrubbers to be the equivalent of 12 pounds of rock rubble. My parents are giving my fish the boot. I went to their house to take down the tanks. Here is the tank that was in my room. The tank was there for about 15 years. I never even knew I had white walls.

So I'll share my first crappy LED light for my first ever 12 Gallon reef tank. Don't get me wrong, this thing got the job done, but not my proudest moment in my DIY history.

By the way, these are car dome led lights I got from eBay.
