GHL Mitras Club

Good questions and more projects would be nice. GHL should have a project page on their forum. I've looked and found none, I think these lights although nice aren't that popular and we have a small base in the US. I've yet to come up with a project that I like, here is mine if you want to look at it.

Is this project for the 6100 or 6200?

ok thanks I checked your project and it really doesn't have much going on. Are you getting good color and growth? would love to see a picture of your tank.
Michael

A simple project for sure, not the best growth, decent color. I'm going to load yours this week, see what it looks like since you seem to be getting growth and color.

I used to have a project with lots going on and I switched it for a very simple one that gave me better results.
Think about it - MH, the gold standard for results IMO, doesn't even ramp. Simple works.

Well thanks for the advice and well taken but leds are ment to ramp up and down and change output of spectrium. Overdoing it is a bad thing so it should be done in meditation. My project has taken me hours and hours to develop and seems to be producing good growth and color. It could probally need a little more tweaking as I am no expert in lighting. Does Anyone want to take a look at my project and let me know ?

My power supplies are a bit noisy, I can easily hear one of them hum 10 feet away. Is that normal?

The lamps hum too, not as much as the power supply but louder than the fans.

All power supplies can make a certain amount of noise, without being in the oom it is impossible to say whether it is making more noise than normal.

All I can say is in over 2 years of production we have never had a single warranty power supply, the meanwells are bullet proof, but if it is a concern contact your countries distributor and they will of course look into it for you ;)

Your project has too many dim points for me, I think connecting USB allows more than wireless. My project was along the lines of Fishmommy, I adjusted the color a bit, think 2 T5's on then another. Increased brightness to keep the same color for dusk dawn. I liked T5, didn't like changing bulbs, so I try to duplicate that a little bit.

Power supply shouldn't make any noise. Light is virtually silent as well. Of all the leds I've owned, the mitras is the quietest one. The fixture itself, you can and should only hear the fans when the unit is on full blast and the fixture is hot to the touch. Other than that, the fans are virtually silent.
Next to a radion G3 pro, you should never hear the mitras light, especially the power supply.

Now I tried swapping power supplies between my two lamps, which made both very silent. Hopefully they'll stay that way...

FWIW my power supplies are from GlacialPower, not Meanwell.

Hi guys,
I lost all my sps,( except orange setosa?) Im tired of experimenting, with them. Anybody who have 6200 model and successful sps growth here? Please post your combination of colors.
Thanks

Can you send me you ours and I will take a look at it. Sent me a pm with your email and I will send you what I have as well. With these lights the intensity plays a big role in SPS health. I can say since I have lowered my to less then 60% my SPS have never looked better.

Smooth dimming

Smooth dimming

Not sure if I understood how the smooth dimming works. Both the Cloud simulation and Light demo dim nice and smoothly, but in my light projects brightness changes in discrete steps at the turn of each minute. For example, if a project goes from 100% to 0% brightness in 4 minutes the Mitras will change its light output like this:

Code:
100% between 20:00:00 and 20:00:59
 75% between 20:01:00 and 20:01:59
 50% between 20:02:00 and 20:02:59
 25% between 20:03:00 and 20:03:59
  0% after 20:04:00
(the same once per minute stepping takes place with longer fade times too).

I am FINALLY getting color back in my SPS after almost a year of experimenting with projects. I have a 27" deep tank and I am running my lights on a simple ramp from 0 to 17000 for 2 hours, 14000k for 8 hours, and then ramping back to 17000 before lights out. I am running at 40% power high efficiency. I had been running a nice LOOKING project that ramped through all kinds of colors and running it at 80% where someone had claimed success and it bleached the bejeezus out of everything.
