Way to go MGE! Glad to see you're still pleased with your unit (not surprised in the least).

As you already see first hand Mitras units just seem to get more and more happy with their purchase as all those "naysayers" are proven wrong week after week.

Can't wait to see pictures of your system as you get them made :)

PS: Get the 120g..... Get the 120g.....Get the 120g

LOL

I've heard that type of s**t bashing a few times, usually about anything that cost a little more money. Ignore them, their just jealous!

Thank you! I decided to wait on adding another tank...the manchild would have my head. I would be keeping my 40B franken-system. So another tank would be a separate build.

Lol, you're probably right. Thank you!

I have never know GHL to not do there homework on anything they have ever produced. To date the Mitras is unrivaled and like you said "...let the growth and color fight your battles." The only thing the Mitras and Maxspect have in common is that their names both begin with an M LOL.

Merry Christmas!!!

Hey MGE. Don't worry bout ppl, were into this hobby for us not them and if your happy with the light that's all that matters. Now get some pics up we've waited long enough :)

Merry Christmas to you as well!

Hi! I couldn't care less about those kinds of people...I throw on my GHL shades to block the haters! lol You're right, that's exactly how I feel. As a Mom of 3, this hobby is my therapy...my away. I won't let anyone take that from me.

I just did a major rescape of the tank. I also just fragged everything that I have for a very special friend/female reefer. She not only lost everything in her 155g to Hurricane Sandy, but found out her rescued pit bull had cancer and was advised she had days to live. Her health declined very rapidly and had to put her down 4 days before Christmas. This lady is very loved by local reefers and my heart is broken for her, especially being a owner/Mommy to a 6yr old Pit bull myself. So I sent her a message to to advise her and try to bring some cheer to an otherwise very heartbreaking holiday. My sandbed and lil' frag rack are full of frags for her...they're all just freshly cut...so everything is p*ssed off and closed up. Plus, my photography skills are non-existent. I also built a d.i.y. continuous feeder and set it up the other day to feed the "Pappone" recipe and some phyto, etc. in preparation adding NPS to the top 30g macro fuge. Did a full system cleanup, water change, changed carbon/gfo a few days early...usually do it the 1st of every month. Hoping to bribe a local reefer/photography guru to take pics of the tank for some frags and to check out the light. So a lot of changes/improvements/fine tuning going on with the system. Hopefully I'll get some good pics within a month. I need a bigger tank...I have no room to work/expand in the 40B. Ugh.

My system is still very, very much a work in progress.

Here are 30 days worth of growth under the Mitras. The frag was remounted and secured to a new frag plug.

Thanks folks! I'm more impressed with these lights everyday. I'm getting good growth and if you let me tell the story, I'm seeing red on the tips on a Bali deepwater acro Vivid Aquariums sells as a "Tri-Colored" Acro. I've always had LED's and all of the others (Ai Sol Blue and Pacific Sun Metis Hyperion) could not bring out the new colors I am seeing in this acro. We should all have some awesome tanks in a few months.

Good to all. I submitted my name is Jonathan and i am from Spain. I have a marine aquarium corals mixed with sps, lps and a few fish. The ballot box main measured 170x70x60cm (long - wide- high), and currently is illuminated with an ATI display Sunpower of 8x80w. Took some weeks exploring change lighting and transitioning to the leds, and of all the screens that i have seen that I like most is the Mithras.
After following this post and any more that I have seen by the forums i have been astonished with the screen, but I have the following questions. Taking into account that I don't like the sps but also the lps, which the rock starts 20cm from the glass and that only i will keep the SPS in the area and medioalta high, how many screens would you recommend I put on my system?

Hi

If you fit the lamp length ways like the ____ ____ you will need two if you fit them width ways like this I I then possibly 3 but I still would start with 2 and go from there

Whether you install two as if installed three place them along: ____ _____ or ___ _____ _____. What was not absolutely sure that those 80 cm that says manufacturer covers well to light with good PAR

On a different note.
I am also now a proud owner of the MITRAS.
So far, I like it a lot. Although, I had some problems to get it connected (PC-Fixture) and it wasn’t so easy to find the programs to download. (and I am German ….. go figure)
Anyhow, does anyone have experience/results with different settings?
I would love to hear about it.

Hey guys, now you been running your Mitras for a while, what % are you running at now and over what period did you ramp them up.

Iv had mine for about 2.5 months, I have increased to 85% yesterday, and my light project is running at about 80% so running at about 64%

TIA
