GHL upgrade question

I have an opportunity to purchase a Profilux II EX. I assume I can upgrade this model to the III EX. Are there any disadvantages to buying the II EX and upgrading it or should I be looking for a III EX if that is what I ultimately want?

Please advise any thoughts.

P.s. I have tried to search for some upgrade threads and really didn't find what I needed.

In regards to buying second hand controllers my advise is this.

Know what you are buying
See it working
Make sure it has not had water or high humidity damage
be happy it all works as -
There is no warranty with second hand equipment.

if you are happy and the deal is good then go for it, especially if you are upgrading, but weigh up the costs of second hand purchase and upgrade cost against new with 2 year warranty.
