Another roadbump...

I had 3 gorgeous angels in QT (orange tail emperor, griffis, and a multibarred). Unfortunately, in 3 days i was planning on moving them to my DT but as im coming home from work tonite i get a frantic call from my wife that all 3 angels are dying! I ran home and i transferred the emperor and multibar but the griff was a goner. Hoping the emp and multibar make it...

Tomorrow ill run some tests in my QT to see what happened.

What were the results of the tests?

Copper seemed on point so my fear is I had a large ammonia spike since i hadnt done a WC in two weeks and these angels were making a mess. I couldnt test for ammonia without getting false positives since the tank had copper. I usually use a seachem ammonia alert but i think it was a bit old and not displaying the right readings. Either way live and learn I guess...

Tank was also very cloudy and im sure the prazipro helped make it that way but ive used it in the past and it was twice as cloudy as i had ever seen it.

Yeah.. It was very sad considering they were both eating from my hands earlier that day. Things happen but like you said I saved my Emperor and Multibar. Im still hoping the multibar makes it since all he does is hide and ive never seen him eat in the month ive had him.

We will see....

do the water changes no mater the readings and you will be safe QT is always stressful to a fish and the water changes assist in the stress level

In the bag...

Nice Regal, I doubt that it is actually from the red sea as it is almost impossible to get anything from there this days, for your information yellow or orange chest regals come from both Indian ocean and red sea, this specimen is likely to be from the indian ocean.
Pacific ocean regals have a blue chest

Absolutely correct... It was sold as a red sea but i know the situation over there and the fact that all yellow bellys are titled "red sea". Regardless, ive always heard they are hardier due to better collection techniques and are less inclined to munch on corals. Both were proven correct with my previous regal. R.I.P. Lil buddy (died during tank transfer)

Just got a phone call from home.. My wife called to tell me she witnessed the murder of my multibar angel by my multicolor angel. Really sucks.

Had a feeling this would happen since he wasnt eating in QT for the 3 weeks he was in there. I had to dump him in my display tank to save him after my QT crashed last saturday. He spent the last week hiding behind pumps and decided today was his day. RIP lil buddy.

Fish on fish violence, will it ever end? You must tremble every time your wife calls now. Sorry for your loss.

3 months without updates... well theres a reason, I had a total wipeout of my livestock (minus my multicolor angel) so i let the tank run fallow for several weeks. Now I have an XL Moorish Idol (eating clams, frozen, and nori), a magnificent foxface, possum wrasse, neon goby, a pair of multicolor angels, and a golden dwarf angel (in QT).

heres a quick video of him tearing up a little neck clam with roggers food rubberbanded on top. (my trick to get him eating it...)

Ive had the idol 2 weeks after buying him at a LFS that got him as a return from a customers tank (picked on a few corals but not in my tank...). Heres a video from when I grabbed him when he was learning to eat nori off the clip in the morning time.

looking good :)! I been interested on getting a golden angel and I was wondering if it acclimated well for you?

So far so good... Hes in qt by himself and i feed him mini mysis since hes so small. He barely eats but hes a cave dweller so observing him is a bit difficult. Im hoping he makes it too..
