ghstrider's custom 150 build thread

Thanks guys.... Picked these two up last week. Both are feeding well but the female is still very shy

Heres an upclose of the male during acclimation

And heres the female or possibly sub-male already coming out of hiding for a minute

One didnt make it... The supermale of course.

He was the more active of the two but just disappeared from one day to the next and i found the CUC dining on him that night. He was eating like a champ then poof! Weird...

The one I didnt think would survive, the subadult male, didnt come out or eat for days but is now eating and venturing out. Hoping it does well and I can just find another female later.

Sorry to hear that. Fish can be perplexing. I've had several just disappear, never to be seen again. No bones, no nothing.

Got a Tinkers along with a few others... To say I was psyched that this guy came in is an understatement. Hes eating mysis and some flakes already.

wow in your tank I thought you had some corals in there..... doesn't he eat coral polyps and invertebrates...either way he is sweet one of my favorite butterflies ...again congrats

Beautiful Moorish Idol, but in the video looks like he does not have enough space to swim. Maybe your tank is 150G, but I think this fish belongs in a longer and deeper tank.

Hey maybe is time for an upgrade...

Matt, thanks man! Ive been wanting a tank with a black tang and a tinkers for a while and finally found the right specimens. The black was not fond of mr tinker at first but the aggression has minimized in less than a day and mr tinker is now feeding quite well. I gave him a Prazi bath while acclimating and in he went with the others.

JDA, Im not upgrading as this was my upgrade. The idol is big and spends his day in/out of the rockwork which has space in the back, front, and has a few arches to swim thru. If I see hes unhappy or getting aggressive then I would find him a happier home BUT right now hes calm, not aggressive at all, and spends his day feeding and swimming everywhere. The biggest jerk in my tank is the multicolor angel... little devil

Been about 2 months work getting her back up. Thanks to flfireman for convincing me not to sell and marvin especially as ive bugged him nonstop with questions trying to get back in.

Yea, that's about all I did. Sorry about not helping you out I've been swamped with stuff. Tank looks good. When are you done cycling??

Added some good bacteria to the tank along with live rock and sand so im gonna do a water test this week. I also added some fish food to start the cycle so lets see... Should be ready already.

Debating putting in a zebra moray eel. Never had one but hear that they don't bother fish and they look amazing... Not planning to do a lot of CUC but if it eats a shrimp so be it.

Anyone have one??
