Can you show us how you attached the Reefbrite strips to the fixture? I have the Infiniti fixture & was considering but want to it clean looking.

Also, has anyone else modded the light to include additional led strips while retaining it's original look? Reefbrites seem the way to go, but are there other solutions that others have done? I want to retain my T5 bulbs, so that excludes the E5 blue pop replacements.

There's a post earlier in this thread where someone installed Kessils into the two blank screen sections. This is my plan as well. No external attachment, it's all internal to the housing.

Spsfle,

Looks to me like the reef brite hanger is attached to the Giesemann fixture. Just remove one of the hex head bolts from the Giesemann and install the reef brite hanger there. Should work okay.

Cheers,
Alex

There you go Ron. I would consider something similar with my old MH fixture. Not picture perfect but functional. In regards to spsfle picture.

Giesemann infinity T5 issue

Giesemann infinity T5 issue

I have a giesemann infinity with 3 250 MHs and 4 T5s. I have 2 bulbs out on one side. The bulbs are good because I swapped them out with the working side and they fired up. Obviously this could be a ballast problem or something else. If it's the ballast where is it? It looks as if it's attached under the T5 fixture and would be a major PITA to get to it. If it's not the ballast what could it be? The bulbs did not "fail" at the same time. So it may not be the ballast but something else. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

An update. I reseated both bulbs several times. I got one to fire up The other did not. The one that did is good.....checked in another socket. So I assume the ballast is good and the issue is with the socket. Any thoughts ?

I had a similar issue. I moved bulbs around. I think I had a bad bulb which caused a light to not work. I also found the bulbs have to be positioned correctly to make contact and light up. Took a bit but eventually I got em all working.

Thank you for your reply. I suspect it is a contact and alignment issue. Such a PITA given the time spent trying to find the "sweet spot". I will keep trying to find the right position. LEDs are so much more user friendly than MHs and T5s IME.

Not once you get the light functioning correctly. MH/T5 is plug and play simple. Much easier to get good color and growth as well.

Aurora Hybrid Opinions

Aurora Hybrid Opinions

Hello,

I'm hoping to get more insight into this Unit. I used to run LEDs on my tank (ELOS 160cmx80cmx60cm) which is mainly Acropora.
I'm in the process of rebooting the tank from scratch and would like to use LED/T5 hybrids.

The voltage is 240V here in Australia and the T5 will be 80W.

Any thoughts into its performance, spectrum and T5 colour choices? I prefer a 14K look.

Thanks in advance!

M

Anyone know where i cna find a good revoew of the matrix t5 fixtures? Was looking into the 8x54 non bluetooth model.

What do you need to know.. I had one and I loved it, way more than My ATI fixture which is having problems again. That said ATI are good fixtures too, I have had mine a long time. I think the Giesemann is way better built and looks better. It is supposed puts out a little less par but I have never measured it nor has anyone I have known.

I recently went led but I am looking at picking up the new Giesemann hybrid Genesis fixture..
