nice might be looking into one of these fixtures for a 5 foot 125 gal. Kind of worried about acrylic with halides over it. Anyone running halides over an acrylic tank? thanks for the feedback!

Im not an Led guy, and def do not like any of the set ups out there. I was at Manhattan Aquariums in NYC today and saw a Giessman Led fixture, and was very amazed by the light put out. It was pricy, 48" for $2,599.00. The reason it caught my attention was the light put by the fixture...was def not like the radions, or AI's none if them looked like this one.

It had four light sources and the type of overall light seemed like MH? I mean the light was spread wide...beautiful light.

Not that i would buy it, trust me my next light will be mh+t5, but i wanted to ask if anyone had seen this light out yet?

Here it is. Futura. Check out the video, definitely worth it pretty impressive

How heavy are the 24 inch Infiniti models? I've been searching and can't seem to locate that info online. I'm trying to figure out if my light bracket can handle the weight.

I would not replace it, I would upgrade it. When I had an Infiniti they used a step transformer to bring the voltage to 230V and ballast and ignitor were inside the fixture. Not sure what your setup is. I would opt for an E-ballast like a Lumitek and bypass all the Giesemann electronics. It's quite simple to do. Here is a really old thread I started.

thanks for the link for your right up I have a 24'' Infinity with 150 4 t-5 I have three wires coming out of the unit.
I have ask several times other people, Where does the hanging kit actually attache the light fixture? how does it attache? Thanks in advance
Is the giesemann 150 ballast a M81 ballast?
Thanks in advance

I recall a slit on top of the fixture that 2 nuts road in. Then you would thread the hanging kit into it. Don't know what the ballast was.

Thanks I cannot seem to find those nuts I noticed in my light I have two metal squares slides I guess that is where you screw it in, problem they are a different size then the hanging kit. Does this sounds correct?

Yeah now that I think about it they might of been squares. If those are still sliding around in there you should be good. I would contact Xenia North America http://www.xeniainc.com/
There was a guy there named Phil Gilbert who always took care of me. He should have a hanging kit for you.

Question for you spectra owners out there - do any of you control the lighting of the individual T5's with a neptune Apex (you know - to give a "ramp up" and "ramp down" by turning them on individually?)

Not looking for T5 Dimming - just how you control each of the indivual t5's.

Thanks!

Unless you were to splice the cords you cant control them individually. Only 2 at a time the way it is wired.(at least on mine)

I have the back 2 T5's come on first, then 2 hours later the front 2 come on.

yes - your right - I mis-read the specifications. I'm still looking to purchase actually. Thanks for the reply

so - making an assumption here - you just control them via the apex by turning power on and off to the outlets - not by any special module that hooks into the wiring of the spectra.

Yes same with my unit but I have been wondering the same thing can we dim the ballast's with the APEX? so two come on slow then the next two or can we only turn on and off. Not sure if the Giesemann ballast is able to be dimmed.
