Gigantea Ciprofloxacin treatment log

You sir are making all the right moves. I think body shape and rigidity for lack of better term is a warning sign just as much as the deflation cycle.

Bring the heater back and see if you can get a new one. High temp (at least not low temp) is really important for these anemones
 
I'm going to borrow one from my friend right now. No receipt no box. I already emailed the store and they said no without those items. I sent the manufacturer an email yesterday. It did look bigger with a working heater in the tank.


Anemone looks good still. No change from earlier.
 
I needed my qt back so it went in the tank yesterday. Tentacles are long again. balding seems to be filling in pretty fast. This thing is a good 25% bigger than before treatments' max size. It is bigger than any dinner plate I have in my house.

I should have left the bowl in the tank because it was really hard to get the foot off the bottom. I had to drain the tank of all the water and hold the tank vertical to get it not to stick to me and peel the foot off the bottom. It took a solid 10 minutes.

You've done a great job with this Gig so far.. I hope it continues to improve for you! Your thread and others will be a model for when I'm able to find a green Gig for my tank. God speed!

2 of my clownfish passed. 1 went then a couple days later another one was swimming on the bottom and I pulled them out to treat for parasites. (I saw stringy white poop and they weren't eating that great) The remaining 4 eat like pigs after the treatment though. I just wished I started treating them earlier.

I probably won't be updating this thread anymore unless the anemone goes south or someone asks for an update.
 
The stuff I used I bought at walgreens with a prescription. I ordered some fish flox from ebay too but got the script because I didn't want to wait for the fish flox to get here in the mail.
 
I am really glad that you are able to save your anemone. They are hardy once establish. Now it is up to you to provide what it need.

Up until now successfully keeping Gigantea have been few and far in between. I hope over the next few years, we learn a lot about how to best provide for them in aquarium setting. It does seem that there are quite a few Gigantea, at least here on RC, survive the first few weeks hump which was what kill most of the newly imported Gigantea in the past

Thanks for the help along the way. I bought this as a healthy looking gig but bought it with double confidence because I knew of this treatment before hand.
