Reefing On My Mind
Team RC
Soooo, I figured with the recent success of people treating unhealthy Gigs I would give this beautiful anemone another shot... I have tried two others that quickly went down hill... Once I put the word out that I was on the hunt, I received an email that this big guy was available... This is by far the largest Gig I've had or seen... Its a good 12-14" in diameter... I expect it will be even larger once it completely opens up... This is also by far the healthiest Gig I've received... Hopefully I won't even have to treat it... :D Excuse pics, taken with phone... ;)

Here it is after first adding to the tank... LED's only...

You can tell a Gig from a Haddoni by the elongated Tentacles and the Verucae upon the base of the anemone... Do a search and you will see many pics... I'll try and snap a pic too for you...

I have decided that I must be a horder when it comes to anemones... I still have the 3 Mags... Two I will never part with... The third, I'm still debating upon... It is in my basement in my refugium that now has way too much flow for my Chaeto... lol :D I'll keep an eye out for a Mag for you though... Youll also be the first person I notify if I decide to part with my 3rd... Besides, you're not too far from me... ;)

Gig's, just cant seem to let go of my Core 6.. lol.. but from here on out ima help ppl find some (locals) unless i come across something unique..

Expanded to a good 14-16" now... Looking better every day... Hasn't deflated once... :)

I think one of the wholesalers found a crop of healthy gigs. I've seen quite nice ones come in lately, yours is no exception. Best of luck!

Reef1589 I'll trade one of my mags for a healthy gig any day. Mine split about 4-5 months ago and both are back to original size.

Here they are with my blackfoots that lay their eggs on a little knob of rock that lays in between the two mag's.

Very nice Magnifica. Green tips and purple base.
I am thinking that I may want to trade the yellow Gigantea for him. Pictured below the yellow one, not green. I am thinking about it but not decided yet.
